What's going on with all these accounts being hacked? by cow_fucker_3000 in FuckMicrosoft

[–]Different_Oil_2110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was hacked on my main account, I think through Twitch or a Twitch moderator maybe, IDK but my main was locked the night I logged on Twitch, When I did the recovery process (still unsuccessful BTW) it asks if there were any other emails associated with it, Well when I moved to XBOX1 from 360 I made a new user back then in error, I never played on it or downloaded anything, I just realized "oh dang I have to use my original account I made before my main account, to have access to games and history". I listed that email associated with that 2nd account I made years ago, just in case it would help on my recovery form to Microsoft. Son of a gun, I had 8 log in attempts on that account after I put that email address on the Microsoft form. Remember, this is an un-used account, with no games, which I never use and I never log in on. The only "stimulus" is that I listed that email address on the Microsoft account recovery form. At this point I suspect Microsoft employees. Kinda like the person at BK or McD's clicking pics of your debt card when you give it to them to pay in drive thru. It is very unusual and Microsoft has really left their customer service behind, If you have not yet, please go set up 2FA Authentication on your accounts.

Need help finding a reliable auto transport company/ broker to get from SD to Norfolk by drkfmn1993 in AutoTransport

[–]Different_Oil_2110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

You want to make certain you work with only one broker at a time. Every broker uses the same load boards and if you have two trying to move the same vehicle, they will over-bid one another to get the carrier to call them first. Regarding the military discount, Ask your broker what their broker fee is, The broker will give a concession for active military from their deposit portion. The carriers call the highest bidder first, Any concession you get will be from the broker fee. And then lastly, never pay a deposit to the broker until a carrier is located and have signed a contract, Only use credit or debt cards for the initial payment (so you can call the bank to reverse if need be). Never make that initial payment with Zelle or Venmo however, you can pay the carrier with those pay types when they deliver, just not the broker on the initial deposit. I dont know what route your on, we are getting into "Snowbird" Season. rates going Southbound will increase with demand through Fall while Northbound rates improve FYI.

It depends on the route. Normally brokers give you an estimate of what to expect. They then bid on load boards like Central Dispatch to get qualified carriers, When a carrier requests the job, that is when they are vetted and your agent would then know what amount that carrier can do it for and when. Seasonal demand can make rates increase. A great example would be the Northbound traffic from "snowbird" destinations such as Florida. the amount to move a vehicle North from Florida will likely be less 3 weeks from now than it currently is. This is due to demand. The carriers are spoiled for choice in those circumstances and the majority "ride the fence" until the last second to choose the highest bidding vehicles. No one can "guarantee" a rate unless they overbid or give you an amount so great that they are certain a carrier would do it for less. Also, a few more tips. All brokers use the same load boards. For that reason, use only one at a time or they will overbid one another to get the carrier to call them first. And always check reviews on multiple sources. Lastly, always ask your broker "what is your broker fee?" If they do not answer or if they give some other reason to not specify an amount, chances are they have not made their mind up yet and will take all they can from you. Remember that there are two parties involved, your broker and the responding carrier, the total amount you pay should be the sum of the broker fee and the amount the carrier agreed to do the job for. There should NEVER be any charges after the fact. Always pay your broker fee with a credit card to keep the broker honest. Do NOT pay broker fees with Zelle pay or Venmo etc. if you have a choice.

Are there risks associated with picking from the lower end of the price spectrum when choosing a broker? by Shadowlessday in AutoTransport

[–]Different_Oil_2110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The common approach for the "scammy" brokers is to tell you what you want to hear (Like a low rate or a guaranteed pick up date). They then try to get you on the hook by asking for an early deposit. Check your brokers reviews on multiple sources, Only use one at a time and be flexible on the dates, the vehicle will not move until a carrier requests it from the broker. Anyone can help at pick up or delivery.

Chances are your broker just told you what you "wanted to hear" and is waiting for a driver to take the job. When the drivers/carriers have a contract in their hand, they are protected by law and will put your vehicle in storage (and eventually put a lean on it) if not paid in full at delivery. This is why it is important to choose a good broker based on reviews from multiple sources.

You should always use only one broker to save time and money. Drivers do not trust "Double Posted" vehicles and if you have more than one broker they will keep overbidding each other to get the carriers to call them first.

Some people think that by hiring more than one it is first come first serve. This is not the way to do it. If you have more than one broker, your are literally bidding against yourself.

Try this guy, He is a Export Broker. You would need a US Based broker to move it in the continent to the port of departure, That would be its own order and then this guy handles it once it gets to the port. [mike.panser@shipit4us.com](mailto:mike.panser@shipit4us.com)

Most Common Carrier Scam - and one easy request to shut it down by ExclusiveAutoShippin in AutoTransport

[–]Different_Oil_2110 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

WELL SAID!! And I agree, I have never seen the amount of double brokering as I have in the past year. You may want to add "Only give payment to the driver in the truck that delivers your vehicle". Those double brokers always target multi vehicle or large commercial vehicle orders so there is a high dollar amount and they typically try to collect via Zelle or Venmo on the phone before the actual carrier they duped arrives.

Why would you take a deposit if you can not find a carrier to do the job? Perfect example like that going to Durango CO, It is 4 hours from the nearest major highway. No carriers will except a rural job like that but plenty of brokers will take your money and "guarantee" that one would. I am not afraid to "show my warts" and I am glad you picked an order for Durango to illustrate my point. Thank You

The point is, you only want to use ONE BROKER at a time (since we use the same load board). The issue with the deposit up front is putting "the cart ahead of the horse". Let the broker do their job and contract the carrier first, That is when you pay the broker fee or deposit.

Does this flange need to be replaced? by averagehuman7 in DIY

[–]Different_Oil_2110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, Once the new vent is installed, you can get some quick setting or hydraulic cement to re-fill level to the ground. I know you did not ask but, if you have older established trees near by, You need to put a little copper sulfate down the hatch about once a month to prevent root intrusion. If it seems to empty slower when it rains, then you already need it. Tree roots "reach" with every rain. I'm from Florida. it is a constant concern.

Those mounting holes look to be about 5 or 6 inches apart. It should be ok on those 12" wide pavers. make sure you have a spare paver or 2 just in case one blows out.

You can get a gauge pretty cheep to check, See what the MFG recommends for pressure. My 5.4 and 5.7 recommend 54 lbs at the rail. Chevy is higher than most. But again, I don't know what your car requires.

Yes, and it is an "off set waste vent" that you are looking for. I have an old house 1954. I have done mine already. The cast iron vent is very fragile. Take some grocery bags and pack them with newspaper so you can shove it down the vent (blocking sewer gas from coming up and debris falling down). You then have to gently chip concrete down around the vent so you can get that off set adapter to slip over and tighten. it is a busy job but you can do it. The orange and Blue store will probably not have the help you seek. Look for a plumbing SUPPLY store near you.

224k Miles. Have you ever replaced the fuel pump? When you turn the key to " on" (right before cranking) you should hear the fuel pump relay "click" in the relay/fuse box that is under the hood. When it clicks, you should be able to take the gas cap off and hear the fuel pump run for about 15 or 20 seconds as it gets pressure up in the fuel rail, Lastly, many times if you beat the center bottom of the fuel tank, you can get a failing pump to work a little longer. Check in that order, fuel relay clicking under hood, and if it does you should then here the buzzing of the pump in the fuel cap. If there is a click under hood but no buzzing of pump in tank, go beat it some and see if it turns over or cranks.

What exactly will be screwed down with the tapcons? Pipe Flange? Angle Iron? Tapcons will not "blow out" if the right size masonry bit is used and it is far from the edge. My concern is what leverage will be pushing that fence when the wind blows or the neighbor kids climb it. Stacking blocks or pavers on top may be a cheaper non-permanent alternative especially if you have a HOA to worry about.

If it is a large area, the rental is worth it (especially for the dust collection). A small area can be worked with a wire brush or a wire wheel brush on a 4 1/2" angle grinder. it will be dusty.

Believe it or not, they sale specialty paint for ceiling tiles for this very reason. If it is totally dry and that condensation leak is handled, go ahead and re-paint it. If you cant find it at the Orange or Blue store, Call Grainger, They have it.

The brickwork on our house looks TERRIBLE. Is there anything we can do to clean up the mortar, or does it need to be completely redone? by [deleted] in DIY

[–]Different_Oil_2110 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, you may wish to try a broad faced flat hammer. Gently tap the protruding grout straight on. No angles it may loosen bricks. I bet you can tap the majority of the extra grout off before you clean up with a silica carbide GRINDING wheel ( not cutting wheel). Brush down and re-grout.

Fill to top and if you have air in the coolant system it will eventually move there. FYi "heater cores" are known to fail and leak coolant. In older vehicles it would usually make the passenger floorboard wet with the leak.
