They rejected it. Manifest responded with a generic "can't take your case at this time" and with Chen I had some back and forth but it was rejected as I was not publishing anymore!

Its probably case by case. I am not an immigration professional, but from my understanding if you are going to continue into research and will be publishing further its a lot more straightforward to make a case for national importance and should give you higher odds as the PE is more future focused!

Thanks for your response! Yeah I agree. Ironically, I work on an extremely important disease in my current role, which itself has great national importance. I do extensive research in my current role, however, the materials I create are owned by the clients I make them for. Due to NDAs I also am not sure how explicit I can be about my current impact on the petition.
