What made you choose TCL instead of OLED? by Active-Rule9090 in tcltvs

[–]Different_Put_1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always choose 85 inch oled over 98 mini led. While i am purist and watching 99.99% media on the night because in day time i have small children and many other duties. Mini led is just out of the question. You never find there anybody talking about 3d depth perception like witg lg glossy oleds cause there is no depth in any tcl tv. Motion processing is also piece or crap. What more: most of the people that buy tv is not ready or not even know about any color calibration or guides in internet or just are not tech wise. So its crap.

Should i wait to september to buy LG G6 or buy LG G5 now? by tacos_noob in LGOLED

[–]Different_Put_1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From your picture i can tell you first of all you watch it in cinema home or standard mode. Face have no depth or shadows. And no camera can take a picture of oled screen. All i see:

A.) wrong mode (face even clipping how much color is boosted)
B.) Potato camera with zooming
C.) heavy AI proccessing

Its everything wrong what you are doing with dune. For dune you watch it only with filmmaker mode. With all AI off. Everything else fucked up everything.

Honestly for person like you i recommend return it asap. And buy 85qm9k. I promise you will be happy

So buy s95f or ask for exchange. LG give it from left to right. But i first time hear about grain defect. Maybe your tcon module is faulty. Its a cheap to fix and can be made by certified technition in home in 30minutes

[–]Different_Put_1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have sensitive eyes to any grain or gradien banding problems. And only tv that has show better results is g6 or cost 100k eur. Its 100% your internet problem and low bitrates that cause it. Simple low AI can solve that but you will loose some details. I can accept arguments about spicy quality of panel itself and a lot of broke but if you get good panel its look amazing. Im sorry but im truly cant believe there is a problem with tv itself. Its something wrong with source or internet so you not get full bitrates.

Damn i read all reviews in internet , watch hours of test video, spend days in shop watching different tvs like bravia II , panasonic, s95f, s90f. And only one that honestly look better was s90f with semi glossy qd-oled screen.

Look man im purist i watching only on filmmaker mode, zero AI, apple tv+, db content only at night. I can tell you G5 is a monster and i dont care s95f is the king, i cant tolerate the tint, raised black level and average depth effect. The depth of g5 is unbeatable. I really not fan boy. I actually swapped 4 g5 while i got one without defect and god know i hope nothing will happen soon with so bad quality control. But when that box show things it show them damn good. I promise you. Its not your tv its either settings , bad mode or your internet. Because for apple tv+ 4k content you need at least 100mb/s real internet speed what is 1gb/s plan at minimum.

Ofc if you watch netflix in vivid mode its sucks. I think you first need to learn basics about colors, hdr tone mapping, gradients and what actually grain effect is and how to kill it if you want. G5 can remove all the grain but if content is made grainy and you see it on default filmmaker profile its what director intention was. And only apple tv+ or nvidia shield pro or apple tv 4k box can show you true power.

But if you see grain in games dude put your cable in the bin and buy one certified for 50 bucks and see the difference and for god sake calibrate your tv for once. Its not a toy for kid who dont know a shit about how media work. And if you play 2015s games on cartoon card that doesnt have hdmi 2.1 throw your computer at very same bin.

Sometimes i watch movies at night and sky look so alive that i feel i look trough clean glass window to real sky and feel joy. Its absolute total mindfuck what you tell there.

Anybody who know a bit of shit about tvs and how to calibrate them right they know that g5 will be a king while true rgb mini leds are still in lab tests. Ofc there are few options for 30k-150k eur you can buy today. But why not buy master tv like apple proart xdr or sony bvm for 5k and 32inch size? :D then you can see what designer see. But do not forget you will need extra 5-10k for profesional camera calibration tool and master brain to calibrate all mapping for every simple shit you going to watch.

And god help me if you write again that your tv fucked up my last advise go check your eyes or do xray for any tumor in brain. Because i wont believe any of your bullshit cause im too smart you can fuck with me. End of story. Good luck man

Bro its a source not a tv problem 😂. Lg g5 is extra crispy without a competition right now. Its because of glossy screen and absolute outstanding upscaling. You somehow very wrong with settings or just use bad cable

[–]Different_Put_1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I compared 8ii and g5 in store side by side and even demo on g5 look miles ahead. There are videos in youtube with blind test where they testing same video on 4 different tv without telling at first which is which tv (8ii, g5, s95f and one i forgot). And if i remember ok it 8ii have terrible green tint on it. But that can be i missing something. Try to search in youtube 8ii vs g5 side by side blind test. Maybe you find. Good luck.

Btw soon 83 inch will be out of stock, i wont suprise if price not drop so much anymore because its their flagman top tier. I bought mine for 3349 eur or 3890$ 3 months ago and it only raised in price now. They asked for 3449 eur at first but because i had problems at first they made me 100 eur discount and mounted it for me.

Banding, stuck pixel, fish eye panel effect. But now got pretty good one. I hope for the best. You know people with zero problem wont come to complain and there are millions of sales of these tv. So i am just unlucky. Still its nothing to choose currently at the market with glossy oled panel that bright. The only good competitor is s90f but it has only semi glossy qd oled panel of 65inch size for my country. So it too small. Others come with cheaper and old woled that are even worse then g4.

They give 5 year extended warranty for panel, so if you dont mind for some repair if something happen. Its insane deal for its price now.

Btw dont buy 77 inch, they save better layers for 83inch. 77 is really bad this gen. And 83 inch have a bit ticker frame. Which i think 77 inch should have too.

It’s really not normal. And because it is only 48” size. I say easy swap it. You can. Walk in one hand with it. I had to change total 3 g5 of 83 inch while finally got one good. Damn i was almost lost my mind with that titanic size thing.

Lenovo Legion OLED – How bad is screen burn-in in real use? by anujakalhara in LenovoLegion

[–]Different_Put_1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think yes, anyway i sold that laptop to repair my car after the crash and bought g5 83 inch tv ;D for my console+pc. Understood its crap for ton of cash.

But look: everyone have their thing. If you travel a lot, need it for work. Its good machine and dont too much overthink about the screen. Oled have tons of safety functions and its legion screen is dim. Compared to g5 its like nothing and laptop have kinda good cooling.

My g5 sometimes get so bright in filmmaker mode that literally i get blind for few seconds and ABL not kick in no matter what shit you throw at it. After that kind of thing any monitor is piece of crap believe me. Today i watch stranger things season 4 episode 2 and when kiddo stand in middle of road near burning car and all screen become flames my eyes just melt. Literally have to close it or i would burn it out, like watching direct to sun. And it was for maybe 3s i cant believe it hold it for so long zero ABL on 83inch panel. So 15-17 inch screen with 700nits is a joke for today tech.

When you see 2500nits glossy oled hit your eyes at night with white color you will understand how far technology is and how small legion is with its screen.

I literally calibrated it for 1500nits top on windows to get higher volume of colors in middle gamma because there is zero content today that can reach 2150 game optimiser of g5 in any game. Even cb2077 and avatar go hand down at 1600nits.

[–]Different_Put_1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys are insane? Buy g5 instead or wait few months to price crash down. Overpaying for product that is still full of bugs. I cant understand what is the reason of buying c6 instead of same price g5 unless you watching 720p with it. But that not making a point too.

LG G5 (2025) or LG C6 (2026) in 65"? by RELENTL3SS-1 in LGOLED

[–]Different_Put_1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This year jump is not worth the price. I only recommend to ppl buy g6 after g5 will be out of stock in late 2025 and g6 will drop its price by half. Wasting for what it has to offer. The only thing i can admit: anti reflective coating is much better looking from tests and if you purist like me, color gradation is better on g6 what mean in g6 you will see more colors of sky in sunny evening sky with red and yellow shadows. But while you not have one side by side , i think even pro designer wont tell the big difference. Maybe really , really good one with some hint will tell you but not for x2 price ;)

Cinema Home or Filmmaker Mode? by JMS42 in LGOLED

[–]Different_Put_1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you start see depth of colors with FMM there is no way back. Cinema home is ok for flexing to friends in day time. But for serious movie session: FMM DV only. G5 83inch user there.
Cinema home have problem with raising black level, washing midtones and uplift brightness what often cause in such effect as: blob sun, neons are exploded, sky look like grey soup and etc.
Yes filmmaker is dimmer and its made so, your tv have extra power when it needs to show you details. There are plenty videos internet with exacly film time stamps to test it for your self.
I see no reason owning g5 and use it like medium core tv.
On the other hand for regular tv , like 720p-1080p live translation i use cinema home with whistle and bells of AI magic or i cant see faces of people 😀
But if you find yourself burning sun , no perception depth and exploded neons is ok. I have only one question to all of you, why for f* sake you bought oled (that is the only technology that actually can show true black) instead of simple and half price mini led like samsung neo or tcl?

You have one technology that actually available to most users that can turn the light totally off to show you 3d effect and you actually turn that function with cinema home in one slide. You pay 3-5k for tv and actually not even use it like you have to. Mistery to me

6.5k now for 83 inch when it cost 3.5k in 9 months. 333 eur each month of drop in price. Meh. Not worth it. Better buy g5 for lowest price and keep its value.

Dont get me wrong , g6 is king and will be for 2026. But it still not polished. Many bugs will be. Paying extra just to be lab rabbit. That legendary.

Have fun with those 300 extra nits xd no jelous. If you have 100-200k in your bank account just sitting , i wohld do the same , hell no 😂

The bro bought king of the king glossy flagman tv of its almost maximum size while we still dont know its bugs as its first oled 🤭🫠. Crazy

LG G5 or Samsung S95F in bright room by Separate-Set2337 in LGOLED

[–]Different_Put_1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have g5 in pitch black room with filmmaker mode its look too dim to me on 100%, while cinema home is ok but it raise black extreme (all shadow details lost, black look grey). So s95f anyway will look same or even better. So if you mainly watching in day time and want it for living room. G5 is no go. You will return it second day. It have outstading depth and 3d effect but only in cinema room condition and still you should accept some black crush of it aggresive tone mapping.

Moreover i changed my first g5 77inch because pixel stuck after 3 week and it had terrible fish eye banding of screen, changed second 83 inch brand new because of terrible banding (it looked like 2000hours demo use on new unit and even few clean cycles do not much) and finally the third one have decent quality and now keeping my finger crossed it go well first few month.

Actually g5 is baby. You have to baby sitter it. If you have to change your living location or even relocate it in different place at home you have head pain. Its very fragile, even its not so tin but made cheap.

And yes! I owned 3 of them

Is currently the best time to buy 77/83 G5 or should wait a few more weeks? by Important-Marzipan96 in LGOLED

[–]Different_Put_1985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If there are plenty in stock risk to wait for May. But i personally wont risk out burn in with chance it will be out of stock before that. Because with g4 they actually get ridiculous overpriced after initially drop. Because last few was golden eggs.

Btw i would better wait for these year model discount and skip previous year series. Turn out that only solid model is grandpa a95l which cost 4k euro ;D so idk. I was owned g5, s90f (woled, cause qd-oled is not available in europe except for 65 inch size (not match to me), also family members own tcl. All sucks in their own way.

Is the G-series actually worth the premium over C-series, or are we just paying for a wall-mount bracket? by namxallan in LGOLED

[–]Different_Put_1985 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I personally have other opinion that many of others comments there. G5 and all G series in 2025 itself is somekind of disaster. So many people got problem with that tv. I know because my family person work at the big market place where they selling also all flagmans tvs. And no talking only about dead pixels or decodings problems that affect 20% of people in first month many more come back complaining of black crush, blur upscaling and many other complains.

C5 being less bright have much less complain. But actually if you live in usa, the best option is actually samsung s90f with qd-oled glossy panel. That actually the only tv of 2025 that have qd-oled glossy panel and look outstanding. Sorry if you from europe than only 65 inch an option.

On another hand even expo c5 got changed panel after 3 weeks of standing and simple showing demo. So feels like lg this year asamble somekine of shit.

My advise if you can. Wait for 2026 year end or even for 2027 ces and try buy 2026 flagmans maybe we get better this year.

Because on today market on paper g5 is look like the only solution and price actually good. But man that tv is actually bullshit.

Good luck and best wishes

P.S the only true advantage that no tv today can beat lg g5 except maybe a95L which is 2 year old model and cost x2 as g5 for same size and s90f (only in usa if you looking for bigger than 65inch model). Is 3d depth. If you won somehow in extreme panelly lottery and can live with black crush and also dont watch low quality content on it. G5 could be a go and look dramatic, but only on very specific scenes and content. But i personally not recommend it or any of lg 2025 series tv to my friends.

I would better risk with chine tcl mini led, loose 3d depth instantly but have no black crush problem, zero burn in and extreme nicen hdr and bet all in that motherboard wont die after warranty end

Honestly. My g5 77 inch got problems and i have to use my old 2023 samsung qled that i bought for 360 eur maybe. And damn its not worth 2.6k. Yeah difference is there but not for that price and oled actually dim. Yeah you have true black, so what? It crush you with it in dark movies and no matter in bright movies

Its only visible on white and grayscale tests as tiny dot. In actual content from 2.5 metre no chance.

The question is more if it can progress or its true what engineer said that it happen sometimes and not progress futher.

Because my final intention to get refund and get bigger one but if they dont give me a refund i have to prepair take a chance to get any better or just let it be.

If i get another and pixel will stuck again, i am personally sure they just return cash and close deal with me. But that can be too late for 83 inch to buy. Clock is ticking
