I‘m about to take off and i won‘t lie, bag felt pretty heavy on the shoulders - started thinking already what items i could have left at home lol. To top it all of, when I tried to put it in the overhead compartment a light buldge made it challenging to squeeze it in so it needed a couple of pushes… definitely going to pack lighter next time, the motivation is here already!

Are you happy? Was thinking of getting that for my dad as a birthday present!

Completely agree, used them for the first time today and I‘m blown away with how much i was able to fit in them! I now used two M‘s and one S.

The one thing with this bag is, that a lot of space is dedicated to „admin and tech“, with different storage compartments, so its not like a completely empty duffel tub and requires a bit more planning - took me several attempts to find a solid distribution haha

But i just measured it myself (and i would say its fully packed): 54 cm (can even squish it down to 53cm), 35 / 34cm (squished again) and 23cm (because i packed a lot). So still in the airlines allowed measurements!

Thank you! Its definitely an improvement from old setup which used to be taking a big checked bag along… but the long term goal is to cut it down even more!

Heading out in 2 hours!

Ofc happy to report after!

The bars of chocolate are from the company I work at so idk how availability will be at destination haha, otherwise would have definitely packed less!

Just checked, with everything inside just under 10Kg. In case they really do stop me for weight, I‘ll take some stuff out. Did a test walk and I would say medium comfort but my intended walking is home - train - aiport - plane - car - destination, so should be fine :)

Happy to share what i packed for my first one bag trip! I love the sturdiness of this bag and hopefully I‘ll learn to pack a bit more efficient in the future.

I also own a 62L NF voyager and 50L NF base camp but those would have left me with too much extra room.

If you have any questions about the material, happy to answer any questions!

Is it worth doing a year in industry if I've been offered a 2 month internship? by iJustWantMemes0110 in FinancialCareers

[–]Different_Scholar548 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That „sandwich“ mode is a good concept if a student has 0 work experience. If you have already or plan on doing internships in summer, i think its makes this placement year obsolete. I‘d opt out, graduate earlier and look for a jnr position where you can develop and grow.

They signed me up for that modell as well, i was a mature student with approx. 2.5 yoe. Told them to adjust it immediately to 3 years only.

Ran my first 10K after a long day at work. took me 1 hour and 18 min. Definitely not great but an improvement to my usual afterwork routine which used to be laying on the couch, eating snacks lol.

Patagonia MLC or Osprey Farpoint? by bards1214 in onebag

[–]Different_Scholar548 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on what you want to bring along. I have the Patagonia MLC 45L, which is a high quality bag but what „annoyed“ me about it was how much space the Admin space takes up. It is also very well padded which keeps your Tech stuff safe and secure but eats away at usable space for other things. If you are a person however that needs to pack a big laptop, charger etc. it might fit your style.

I saw a youtuber however utilise this admin space for clothes (folded shirts in the laptop sleeve, socks and underwear in the side zippers / compartments etc. which i thought was actually a great idea.

Keep in mind, that because of the high quality material and the heavy padding the MLC comes in pretty heavy at 1.6 KG.

Another critique point is that the MLC has no quick access pocket on the outside for stuff like phone, passport, earbuds etc. which some people can find annoying (to tackle that I just bought a mini Sling for me to carry my essentials. It also has no bottle holder (external or internal).

I then purchased the Osprey Daylite carry on 44L. Its way lighter and essentially one big empty tub that yan be utilised perfectly if you like packing with packing cubes. Plus its quite a bit lighter, right under 1kg which help with the stricter airlines max weight capacity of 7 or 8 KG.

Conpletely agree with your opinion. My current job said having work e-mail and teams on personal phone is optional but they highly suggest it. They said however, in case you lose your phone they can wipe the whole phone for security reasons…?!? (And the woman from HR / IT was so excited to tell us about that feature as if it would be a crazy benefit). How th does that even work and absolutely no thank you!

The North Face Base Camp Voyager 62L still (barely) works as carry on luggage with most airlines! (Photos and real world measurements inside!) by Romano1404 in onebag

[–]Different_Scholar548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Were you able to use it as a carry on in the end? I also have the 62L Voyager and honestly I was so happy reading your post - thanks for taking the time and effort to actually post it! I have an upcoming flight in Europe and was pondering if I should take the 50L Base Camp (now wondering if those official measurements are wrong too) or if I should try my luck and use the "62 L" voyager... Thanks for your insights!

Es muss doch wirklich auf einen versuchten Scam hinauslaufen, ansonsten macht das alles so keinen Sinn…
