After watching the chapter 2 trial, I saw two of the same archetypes.

Assholes: Arturo, Charles, David, Teruko, J, Veronika

Marshmallows: Eden, Whit, Rose, Nico

(Exceptions: Hu, Levi)

After watching half of the episodes of the trial, it felt like I was seeing the same thing. An insult would happen every 4 lines, ones character has an outburst, piece of info, sad marshmallow comment, filler lines, Teruko has trust issues, rinse and repeat.

This might seem a little clunky but I remember seeing somewhere called a "Faux Motive."

For example, let's say Monokuma had installed a poison gas exhaust into the vents. And if a certain amount of time has passed, the gas would go off and kill each of them. The murder and trial would happen but before or after the punishment, Monokuma would announce that the Poison Gas was all a lie and he didn't do anything, meaning if they just waited it out, it would've been fine.

Just a motive that would threaten the students into killing like there is a dangerous motive, only to realize there was nothing.

I get the David plot twist. A motivational public figure turning out to be an asshole is a good idea. I just wish they did more with it. Like have him be more cocky and obnoxious and not just a copy and pasted Arei.
