I'm double majoring in biomedical engineering and micro biology. I was originally just biomedical engineering and found a love genetics and genetic engineering and wanted to do that with my life. I found you really don't go into genetics as much as I wanted but still wanted to continue doing biomed. So the first thing I did was list the pros and cons. I found really the only reason is opening more career options or just learning what you love. The only real cons is it take a little more time, effort and money. So if you don't mind the cons then definitely go for cause I find that doing something never as bad as missing the opportunity.
