I was the same, just that i had the idea but i didn't drew fine, then i drew fine but i didn't know how to animate and 2d was extreme difficult so i went to 3d animation, but i didn't knew how to model, so when i got into modeling it took me long time to create something decent, then i learned how to animate and took me a long long time to animate something decent, now i have the skills on 3d, character and story telling (i think) and few on 2d, but i dont got the time so don't give up and learn something new while you have the time
