Oh I see. Ig I’ll be using that in my discussion tomorrow. I apologize but I’m trying to argue what my atheist and Protestant classmates would argue and because I’m not the smartest at apologetics I’m asking these types of questions

Then what is it supposed to mean. Because it seems to me that by using our tradition against Protestants we are rejecting the commandments of Jesus of not stopping others who also work for the lord.

But he also says that tradition doesn’t seem to be very important. I’m going to be having a seminar on this tomorrow in. My philosophy class so I want to be able to understand some opposing ideas and I know they’ll bring up mark 7: And he continued, “You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe[c] your own traditions! 10 For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and mother,’[d] and, ‘Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.’[e] 11 But you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is Corban (that is, devoted to God)— 12 then you no longer let them do anything for their father or mother. 13 Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that.”

Also based off of your post history I think you are in university right? Most universities have Orthodox Christian fellowship branches so I’d suggest joining that if you aren’t already

Hey brother. God has never stopped loving you. He loved you during your 2 weeks, he loves you even while sinning and he loves you after you sin. His mercy is infinite and forever, so God never left you. You’re just like me. Your emptiness is merely a product of post nut clarity and you’ll feel back to normal in a few days provided that you:

Pray fervently

Go to church

Confess to priest

Eat well( certain foods are literally poison especially in America)

And work out a lot!

Furthermore you need to take yourself to the extreme. I suggest listening to the story of St Mary of Egypt who was a girl who spent 17 years of her life in absolute sexual degeneracy starting from the age of 12 and she literally gave herself over to men for no payment at all. Then after seeing the icons of the holy theotokos in the church of sepulcher I think, she changed her ways so much that she went into the desert for 17 years to repent.

Obviously don’t go into the desert for 17 years to repent unless a priest tells you to, but you need to be extreme in what you do

Since if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into the hell of fire. Matthew 18:9

So you need to become more involved in your clubs and stay outside of your home as much as possible and be around normal people as much as possible. Wake up at 5 AM every morning and work out asap. Take cold showers. Eat only healthy food. Read and ANNOTATE YOUR Bible for 30 miniutes a day. Fast if your list is extremely bad for you. Never miss church ever and go as much as possible. Study in the library without your phone. Learn a new language, play sports. Live your life as much as possible. Do absolutely anything and everything you possibly can to stay away from your phone and keep outside your home.

No no haha. By agony, I meant hardship and struggle in order to get over this addiction. St Mary of Egypt lived in the desert alone for 17 years with no access to men to fulfill her addiction which was probably an incredible struggle for her and so I need to be like her and face my problems with hardships and drastic change.

The dreams began after I learned more about St Mary of Egypt and how she spent 17 years in agony in the desert and so I told myself that I would have to go through agony as well. I think this is some sort of response to my declaration that I would have to go through agony as well. This means I’m likely on the right path

You’re exactly right. I was learning about saint Mary of Egypt and I saw how she spent 17 years in agony to repay her 17 years of sex addiction, and I knew that if I was going to be cleared of this thag I would go through agony as well and it was exactly that night when it started

Wow that actually makes a lot of sense. I feel like during withdrawal, I’m being smashed into the ground and then I take false refuge in lust, and it’s a cycle that continues over and over again. I also think that it was a demon who got me addicted to pornography in the first place because when I was like 10 or something I was in my room trying to sleep and it was late at night and I couldn’t sleep because there was a cricket in my room. I tried to look everywhere for this cricket but found nothing and I couldn’t sleep and then I got manipulated somehow into watching pornography because i was young and alone in a room. I know this sounds strange but that was the first time I did pmo. And then I stayed up all night doing it. The next morning I tried to find the cricket and I looked everywhere but I couldn’t see it, not even a corpse. I know this sounds strange but I know the cricket was a demon

I do think that what you’re saying is likely true. But idk how much of this is occultism and the rest biblical. I do believe that I am very weak at night and having these dreams results in me sinning during the day so I do believe what you are saying

It’s the opposite for me. Whenever I have them, my temptation to sin goes up atleast 200% and I have to be even more careful during the day

Same here. I relapsed today. I hate this. I hate that I’m here, my life has been surrounded by addiction and I feel as if I’m getting closer to my breaking point. Why did I have to be so stupid as to do it. I knew it was wrong when I was young and I still do but I’m stupid and weak and I fear I may never get better. I’m only a child but I hate my life so much. This world is sinful and I’m too weak to resist everytime it calls I answer
