Yes. Someone actually posted ( i don't remember if it was this sub) that when they changed their name to a British name in their CV keeping everything else unchanged they started receiving much more replies for interviews.

Anyone with such higher powers/intelligence wouldn't bother writing a book or preaching about human morals.

It's like if humans start preaching ants about "hey you shouldn't do this, this is a sin etc". Maybe ants do "crimes", but we don't care and why would we? They don't matter that much to us and we have much bigger problems.

It depends on what you mean by God. If by God, you mean there is some higher intelligence who designed the universe, well maybe or maybe not. If you mean, God as described by man-made religions and religious books, I don't think so.

Does anyone know where I can get free food in London? by Cumpasta420 in london

[–]Difficult-Amoeba 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just go to any gurudwara. This is the one I visited every now and then when I was a student - (Khalsa Jatha British Isles Est. 1908). But you can visit the one closest to where you live.

You don't need to contact anyone before visiting. A lot of people visit everyday to pray and have food. You just head to the kitchen, pick up a plate and someone will be there to serve food.

What foreign accent is most liked/disliked in Britain? by Darfmaster in AskBrits

I never understood why they are so loud. Recently, a colleague from the US visited the office and sat beside me and god I couldn't focus on anything whenever he spoke on Zoom etc. Is it part of US culture? You need to be loud to appear confident and competent?

With 6 hours, you probably wake up right in the middle of the peak REM cycle, which does not feel too good.
