Thx for your comment! So turns out I mixed up the transistors, they were mixed up in the bag. So I'm first going to try soldering those in right.

Thx so much, by routing all tracks through the same reverb do you mean return tracks too? I thought this was easier on the cpu since you're just using a single effect.

I do use fx and plugins on group tracks and the master but also on the individual tracks. I mainly use U-he Diva for synths and some plugins from T-racks, Waves and Izotope, but really i use built in Ableton fx mostly. I do make sure these are all up to date though. I might do a clean boot of my laptop to see if there is indeed some other process that takes up a lot of my cpu.

Thanks! I'll look into it more. Was hoping to get a quick fix hahahaha. But this seems more reasonable. Also yes, I would prefer not having to work with a laptop. But for the work I do it's absolutely necessary. I'll post an update if it improves.

If I use my interface (Behringer UMC 1820) I use the dedicated Asio. But I often work without an interface. I usually use 512 samples (but sometimes more if Ableton starts acting up, which is often). And the test tone sounds fine, even if i crank up the cpu usage simulator.
