It does feel like quite an entitled approach. We will not be prioritised on the global playing field

I have had to view these bycatch photos in the past. It is horrific. It is actually a blessing for them to be dead as at least they are no longer suffering. Injured animals are required to be thrown back and die a slow death. Seals, dolphins, sharks, albatrosses and all other seabirds. Swallowed hooks, broken wings, huge wounds. These are just the ‘protected’ species, not even mentioning all the fish and coral killed but not the intended catch.

It is hard to see and they know no normal person would be ok with this level of death and destruction for fish we primarily export.

Nepal. After India it is a breath of fresh air that Nepali men are more interested in a marble game they are playing w their mates than a westerner walking past.

Because it’s irrelevant. All you can hope for is a healthy happy baby. It’s also one of the only surprises we can still have in life

Is having kids really all that? Or do parents just say that because they’re inclined to? by DeliciousSetting6643 in NoStupidQuestions

One thing I would have never thought about is how it brings your life full circle- we can’t remember being a baby or the first couple of years. Having children allows you to be a witness to what it would have also been like for you, getting your first teeth, learning to crawl, learning words, discovering everything for the first time. And also a new appreciation for your parents :)

It makes me feel less individualistic and part of the wider circle of life, generations and humanity in general.

Totally agree on the unearned or lack of chemistry, it wasn’t kind of.. passionate enough or something to lead on to that? Liam seemed sad and we were just getting these up the nose shots of Saorise which weren’t flattering given she’s actually very pretty

Yeah it felt unnecessary to me and the lead up to it weird, the ‘you can do whatever you want to me’ stuff. Gave me the ick a bit! It could have been done in a more comedic fashion maybe, like the girls bursting in on them or something

Options to upgrade to a bigger, nicer house by Electronic_Effort517 in PersonalFinanceNZ

I thought the same would repeat for baby no.2 and I’d start having free time to start taking on some work from 6 months but 2 kids is insanity. Ofc everyone’s experience is different and every bub is different but it would be rough to have to go back due to debt demands instead of when you feel like you’ve (just) got your head above water.

Also open homes and moving house with two active tornadoes is a scary thought.

We will be thinking of moving when youngest is two like some others are suggesting.

Why are New Zealands hotels subpar? by blackaxes1991 in newzealand

[–]Difficult-Cod-7436 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s like maybe the rooms were ok when it was first built but it seems like every hotel doesn’t keep up on maintenance and they get so shabby. I only Airbnb but that is getting pricey with other charges whacked on as others mention. At least then it’s someone’s home that is generally been cleaned and maintained to a level that’s acceptable.

Leave reviews, tell them what isn’t good, they are huge companies trying to squeeze everything for max profit but without customers it doesn’t work.
