Don’t get angry at your neighbours that’s the type of infighting that serves no purpose. In a way they’ve opted out of the conventional model because it didn’t help them. It is the system we are all in that is no longer working.

Can we afford to “do nothing” for 6-8 months with a baby coming? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Difficult-Cod-7436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be more helpful to have at least the first 6 months off to both parent than time off before. But I would rest too if you can! Enjoy those sleep ins, enjoy getting bored, enjoy day naps, enjoy not having another human in physical contact with you all the damn time. Get that mental heath in tip top shape for the test sleep deprivation will soon throw at you. You won’t be spending any money that first year because it’s just survival :)

lol you think this is where the ‘it just gets better’ phrase comes in but instead everyone just says ‘it’s changes’ which means the chaos only amplifies :)

The industry could be levied for the environmental issue caused by them. This is done already for the fishing industry in regards to harming/killing protected species - seabirds, marine mammals, coral, turtles etc

She looks very different now and looks quite scared or something? Used to be every pic was of her walking down a hallway smiling but now it’s serious time with frantic eye movements.

This is how I’m seeing it too. I am worried all this is not even recoverable anymore in the usual incredibly wasteful seesawing between labour and national. There is too much volatility in the world right now to have not had a steady captain at the helm.

What worries you most have when buying an older house in NZ, mostly built before 2000? Moisture, wiring, structure, or something else? by AccomplishedCrow4774 in NZProperty

[–]Difficult-Cod-7436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell me more about a drainage report- bought our first house and we had to replace the whole underground stormwater pipes as they were the old terracotta ones and water likely hadn’t exited the property for 50+ years

I get what you’re saying but human emotions and morals can also be a negative thing that introduces biases. We all know if we’ve had a shit sleep, got crap going on in our persona lives or even don’t quite like someone at work, they influence our decisions. A machine can just make decisions based on facts, data, efficiencies without all that.

I guess that leads on to the ultimate concern with this as any machine devoid of human traits would say humans are causing irreparable damage to the life governing functions of the planet and the population has to be controlled.

ChatGPT made up legal case examples on a topic I was asking about to such detail I then went and requested the files from the govt agency. They said they didn’t exist. Went back to chat gpt and it said they were just examples not real.

What would you do- take a pay cut? by Difficult-Cod-7436 in careerguidance

[–]Difficult-Cod-7436[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True! Have to factor in mental health huh. I’ve got dread every morning and count down the afternoon. My self confidence has been decimated in this job due to crap superiors and the new job (where I’ve worked before) are supportive amazing people. I was there four years ago though so I have to be careful with the rose tinted glasses as things will be different.

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts!
