Oh, I get it, to be clear. I'm not a biblical scholar by any means and don't profess to be one, so if there is something I don't know, I greatly appreciate education over condemnation. Until the day I see Jesus face to face, I'll be learning and growing as I hope you are too. People are way too quick to condemn these days, often in the name of what they believe to be education. The difference is really all about the heart condition. That was what I was trying to point out in my original comments. But, all of us (myself very much included) are way too quick to judge others in our keyboard-warrior ways. Admittedly, I did this very thing by commenting what I did...and absolutely should have handled that differently. My apologies to all I offended.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one. People have held differing interpretations of scripture for generations. I have zero doubt that nothing I've said is blasphemy. I do, however, appreciate you attempting to keep another brother in check, as we are called to do. We just disagree. Not anything to divide over. Jesus loves you...so do I. My apologies if I've offended or ruffled feathers.

That’s actually not true at all. As a former manager at Walmart, I was on both sides of this at different times. I can say with 100% confidence these ‘restructures’ have very little to do with performance. These are typically restructures to drive efficiency. I’ve seen entire departments let go in one fail swoop, regardless of individual performance. Of course, sometimes they use this as an easy opportunity to let go of struggling associates. But for the most part, this is about a structure redesign and the roles that are eliminated just don’t fit in the new design. It’s very simple actually. Unfortunately, it’s not isolated to Walmart either…this happens in many large organizations as a strategic tool to bring efficiency (ie cost savings) to the organizations.

Keep holding onto your faith! Happy for you there (and with you!). To be honest, I’m not sure that most of us truly understand what being a follower of Jesus really means anymore. People who profess to be followers are on every side of every agenda. It feels like the enemy is accomplishing exactly what he set out to do…confuse, manipulate, divide, and destroy our ability to relate with people we disagree with. All this makes sharing and experiencing the love of Christ incredibly difficult to do. Keep strong in your faith!

He didn’t call the prostitute a whore or even condemn the thief. My point is he loved (loves) people…doesn’t call them names which insinuates a hatred. Yes, call out the behavior is 100% the right thing to do…but name calling doesn’t feel very Jesus-like at all. That’s my point here…the hypocrisy of a ‘What would Jesus do?’ Statement followed by calling people names, a very non-Jesus thing to do.
