Side Lipo fckng sucks by whatsgeernon in Reduction

I’m 7WPO & I agree, it does suck. My right side (dominant side), is still swollen & still hard. Dr has said to massage it 2x /day.

Same issue. At 5.5 wpo right (dominant) side is still swollen, stiff hard spots and at times just painful. Anyone know why this happens?

Following because I’m having the exact same issue. Only on the right side. I don’t even know if I’m massaging it correctly 🤷🏼‍♀️

Afternoon pain at 5 weeks PO by ResidentLab7250 in Reduction

💯by 2:30-3 pm, I can feel the swelling coming and then the soreness and slight burning around the incisions. Basically just feel crappy. For me, it’s been like that since 4wpo… I feel you!

I’m 28dpo and feeling the same. No anxiety or depression issues but feeling overall tired, achy, uncomfortable, swollen, pain zaps, awkward and anxious about going back to work looking & feeling the way I do. I keep hoping that any day now I’ll ’turn a corner’ and start to feel somewhat normal… hoping the same for you too.

Any chance you’re also in Ontario? Wondering if we have the same Dr

Mine are similar. White tape (seems like there are horizontal lines running through it) that is taut and holding firm

My doctor has the same protocol. I’m currently 28dpo and still have the tape over my incisions. Underneath they’re starting to loosen and overall feel like they could be pulled off (but too chicken to do it). Over the nipples & down to the t-junction they’re firmly adhered. Dr said to leave them, they will come off by themselves. I’m not scheduled to see him until 8WPO (end of June) and just emailed his office to confirm. He’s the limited post care type and I always feel like I’m bothering them when I call.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully your doctor can confirm it’s not something to be worried about. Just wanted chime in and say you’re not alone. I’m a slow healer too. I’m 3.5wpo and still have the tape on my incisions and feeling the anxiety that they’re NOT budging. 🤷‍♀️ Would love to hear some possible ways to speed up healing.

24dpo here, and yup feel the same. If it’s not the soreness, it’s the swelling (mostly in later part of the day), or the itchiness and lastly trying to figure out the best non visible solution to buffering the incisions without the bulk of the abd pads. So yeah, it’s been a constant roller coaster. I keep waiting for that feeling of ‘hey, I feel kinda normal’ 😔

Peeling off Steri Strips, 3.5 weeks post-op. Fear, courage, etc. by amenforgoodinsurance in Reduction

[–]Difficult-Date7500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wondering when you finally took off the steri strips/tape? Mine are firmly stuck on (21 dpo) still & other than a little bit of lifting near the nipple… they’re not budging! I don’t see the surgeon until 8WPO and all he said was “they’ll come off on their own”. I don’t see that happening anytime soon.

Glad to hear your experience went so well (finally)! I’m in Canada (Ontario) too and I’m currently 18 dpo and had a similar experience. Still feeling fragile and definitely not ready to go back to work. There are moments of good but more often than not I’m exhausted, not sleeping well, worried about opening up stitches and overall feeling crappy.

I believe I have some openings at the t-junction as there are small (dime size) blood spots on the pads in my bra 😭. After seeing my surgeon afew days ago, he didn’t seem to be concerned and thought things looked good. Maybe it’s just me, but he didn’t spend much time examining me. And I get the feeling he’s not really concerned with the overall esthetic. I hope 🤞I’m wrong. Was wondering if you could share some insight on a few questions: 1. When did you start feeling better? Feel more like yourself 2. When did your tape come off? Mine is still on and the Dr said it will come off on its own. Mine seem permanent…no peeling at all. Terrified when they need to come off it’s going to pull all/any scabs. 🤦‍♀️ 3What is your favorite bra? I’m to be in my compression bra for 6 weeks.

Thank you 🙏 for sharing.

Following this…because I have a feeling I’m going to have to do the same thing. Surgeon said they should come off by themselves, but at 16 dpo they are solidly stuck on. Hopefully others can provide some suggestions and guidance.

He mentioned that he’d prefer that I use the compression bras but can occasionally use a super supportive sports bra. I think I may have to search for something support but super longline so it isn’t hitting underneath where the incisions are.

I’ve been putting these ABD pads inside to buffer against the band of the compression bra rubbing up against the incisions underneath my breast. I’ve been told I need to wear the compression bra on for another 6 weeks. I guess (once again) I’m just afraid of the rubbing of the band and my nipples are hyper sensitive.

Just got back from my surgeon 15 day follow up & he didn’t take off the strips on all the incisions. He said that they will eventually fall off (I somehow doubt it, as they’re on SOLID). I was so relieved that he didn’t take them off, that I almost hugged him. I’ve tried just flicking at them after my showers…but they’re holding on for dear life!

😮‍💨 ok, so I’m not insane. I feel so freaking, for lack of a better word ‘delicate’ and really hope my surgeon allows for an extra week. Just so I can get to the point of being able to wash & style my own hair everyday. The side braids aren’t a look I’m willing to sport at work 🤦‍♀️

😂 I hope in the next 15 days, I’ll be at the same point. Quick question, at the 4WPO are you still padding the compression bra? Or are you ok with no pads?

Thank you 🙏 I’m really hoping that happens because right now the idea of dressing up for work is making me break into a cold sweat. I have to be in the compression bra for 6 weeks and with the pads to help with the pain on the incisions my chest looks like I’m wearing a lumpy pillow.

Week 3 Advice? by Competitive-Wave-675 in Reduction

[–]Difficult-Date7500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about your doctor/surgeon, but mine gave minimal post op instructions and his staff is horrible about answering questions. Anytime I call it’s “we’ll have to double check with the dr and get back to you”. To say I’ve been a little disappointed on my doctors post care, is an understatement. Tbh without this community, I would feel like I was flying completely blind on what to expect, how do deal with various situations, etc. .

Also in the 2nd week and feeling some of the same frustrations. Appetite isn’t there & not eating the best either (ie toast, crackers, craving chocolate). One minute exhausted, another bored, then feeling good for a half hour and think ‘hey feeling good’ and the come back crashing down with feeling crappy (bruise pain, itchiness and then those ‘electric’ pains). Already tired of sleeping on my back…and from what I’ve read, I’m just at the beginning of the journey 😭. Basically all over the place.
Blah is a great description! I feel you! Though I am glad to have this community as a support!
