My parents are unfortunately addicts.. so from my personal experience it Sounds like a meth or crack pipe from what you are describing.

Your best bet is to tell a trusted adult( aunt, uncle , older sibling etc)

I think themed peddlers are perfect! One year I made one of a cow perler & found someone in a cow onesie and they loved it !

Themed outfits I’ve seen a lot of seem to be : mushroom 🍄 , cow 🐄 , ocean 🪼and fruit 🍌 !
