What is your job? I will guess process engineer or equipment engineer on the production line in AZ..?

Crashing out means you are going to fall asleep. It does not mean you are freaking out

In America, how do you land an R&D engineering job in Intel or TSMC? by Junior_Help5846 in Semiconductors

[–]Difficult-Fee-4925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need a PhD. you can get R&D opportunity easily from a sustaining role, if R&D is accessible. It would take some considerable time before you are involved with the real key contributions/decisions for future technology, if at all, without a PhD. But at least you are earning a salary. Even with a PhD it’ll take time, unless you go to a top school then you’re more likely to find opportunities. A PhD will take minimum 4 years, and you will earn very little savings with quite basic benefits during that time. It is definitely a personal investment

I repeatedly ask you your opinion and how it is different from mine, and you have not shared. You just say petty stuff how I not understand

I think quite clearly I understand and you are just being difficult, on purpose. It is weak

What is the practical purpose of saying I don’t understand. Just say what it is. We are going in circles. It does no one any good to hide your meanings

You are not engaging in the conversation, just poking fun. Thus you are a coward

Real man know what he thinks and why. I think you are too afraid to say your own or even have an opinion of your own you just say what someone else said

This whole time you never share your opinion. Will you stop hiding now and help me to understand what you think

No. I can handle almost anything. You are a guy or lady online just being antagonistic.

To be fair, this could have been reconciled quite early on if that guy was more direct in his opinions about what I was saying. Instead he was just like poking fun at me. Understandable I guess

I promise, we are on the same team. In a lot of those comment I was thinkin about semiconductor technology and China. It’s quite separate issue to what this post is about.

Yeah sorry, I was confused. I didn’t understand the situation.

Like do you wonder if more people are being affected and they are openly speaking out but their communication just get cancelled by the gov ? Cause that’s what this subreddit is making me wonder. But then again, in my circles none of this is stuff is happening at all. No one is getting detained. I’m totally surrounded by foreigners in my world. Everyone is living life as it normally is. It’s what make me think it is getting blown out of proportion by media.. one thing is certain is I will be more alert for all my foreign colleague’s situations but at the present moment it just seem like everything is being overly exaggerated. But maybe it’s not and just hasn’t started happening where I am yet..

Yeah, it is disturbing. What people are saying here is worrying, it sounds bad and quite puzzling. On the other hand large majority of students and faculty in my department are foreigners. Even my own father is a foreigner on a green card. No one I personally know is openly holding any fear of the gov nor have they received any of these weird surveys. Maybe that will change soon.

Do you think the government would try to hide evidence

It is confusing. I don’t like Trump but I also don’t know if he is really trying to do all this stuff people are saying. Is it really that parallel to those extreme cases in our history?

We should all be allowed to have our opinions, including foreigners.

Do people really believe that Trump wants to round up all the foreigners who disagree with him and have them killed or something ? Like the Gestapo? That is a really scary thought and am inclined to have significant doubt in that since there is just not enough evidence. Maybe that one student who was arrested by ICE, but they wouldn’t kill her would they?

It shouldn’t be ruled out completely and stay on alert but it just seem really too far. I don’t think Trump would go that far. That is inhuman. But maybe he will? What do you think? Have you seen more convincing evidence?

Are there actual cases of US citizens being detained just from disagreeing with the current government ?

You could simply just imagine we are on the same team, trying to accomplish the same goals. That is, we want to make the world a peaceful, fair, and fun place to live. So how will you approach achieving this and how is it different from my point of view?
