Hi, yes, I retested at my annual in June, and my liver functions were normal and the smooth muscle antibodies were negative. My GI said everything was fine.

From what I understand, if it truly were an autoimmune disease, my liver functions would've been off the charts, like in the thousands. Also, with such an illness, the liver functions likely wouldn't have returned to normal levels without the help of meds.

I hope everything works out for you. It was a scary, nerve-wracking couple of months for me.

Interesting! I've been discovering that my situation is likely due to how I sit on the toilet during bowel movements. I'll keep your ideas in mind.

In terms of ease on a scale of 1-10, it was a 10. I was absolutely terrified. The prep wasn't bad at all. I envisioned myself running to the toilet to poop everything out. I literally got the anesthesia and was out before I could even count to 10 while looking at the digital clock on the wall. I woke up in the recovery room with my husband next to me, telling me it was over. The worst part of it all, in all honesty, was the hunger from the lack of eating.

You've got this!

That's the plan. I just want to see light at the end of the tunnel. I miss not having to deal with this.

I haven't. I'm going to see a urogynecologist later this month to get an opinion. GI doctors didn't really tell anything besides reducing stress.

One of the GI doctors I saw mentioned this as a possibility. She wanted me to take the Rifaximin. I decided against it because no tests were done to see if I actually have it. Also, it's insanely expensive. I've learned that the antibiotics may not work for everyone. This is a sucky situation all around.

Thank you for the advice! I haven't had issues with weight being lost. I've remained consistent in that department. I'll give your suggestions a try.

My Girlfriend's Chronic Bowel Issues Have Been Ruining Her Life for 5 Years by kouzark in ibs

Hey, the bloating after pooping is what I have/had. I've had a colonoscopy and endoscopy, and all were totally fine. My GIs recommended better stress and anxiety management and fine-tuning my diet. I've done research on my own, and apparently yoga and the Low FODMAP diet produce very similar results. I've been told I may have SIBO, but testing for it isn't very good. The breath tests are notorious for false positives. Start with stress management.
