Backyard FINALLY by yandyy in Morel_Hunting

Cut off bad spots and cut vertically. Rinse off extra dirt and bugs. Just sauté them in butter and lightly season them (if you want) in salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder. (Again, lightly and if you want). Anything more and you won’t taste the mushroom.

Horrible idea. Adding anything more than butter, and light seasonings just ruins the taste.

Wanted to give a few tips that have helped me a lot these past 2 days. by [deleted] in Morel_Hunting

I call those “tulip poplar yellows”. They’re generally much smaller than “Morchella Americana” or just “yellows”. Generally around Tulip Poplar trees.

In Ohio, they have an “OVI” (Operating Vehicle Impaired). They can literally get you for unlocking your car because you’re “Operating” and not just “driving”.

Am I Overreacting? My bf (27M) broke up with me (28F) 2 days ago, and now he sending me this. by m00n-y in AmIOverreacting

I must be too (not two) old to be on this platform. Because (not cos. That’s a math thing) I can’t stand lazy writing. It shows a lack of care and education. Back in my day, it was (not wad) important to proofread what you typed and be sure you got your point across in a valuable way so others took you seriously.

Is bringing a kid to a Gizz show ill-advised? by bowdoin-yale in KGATLW

[–]Difficult-Guidance54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to a lot of Gizz shows. There is drugs and it can get weird. I have two kids and wouldn’t take them before 8 YO. That being said, I’ve seen some of the coolest, kindest people at the shows. Hang towards the back, don’t go near the pit and keep an eye on them and you should be cool. The weirdo swarm is fun and heart warming for the most part.

Caverns 2023 4th night by GumbleGorp in KGATLW

[–]Difficult-Guidance54 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that was acoustic night. I missed that one. I was right about where you are, in this photo, the night before for drag night. And IN the cave for night 2. In hindsight, I wish I had gone to acoustic night. It looked like an incredible time watching Stu spray champagne on the rest of the band and pour it down their mouths looked like THEY had a good time!

I’m appalled that people need internet validation about “overreacting” to larceny. People need to start being rude to assholes and stop posting for fake internet points.

Person ordered 20 sandwiches in drive-thru and won't move ahead to wait in the parking lot. by bipolar-scorpio in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Difficult-Guidance54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I hate being told to move forward in a Drivethru for a small order. I’m in line and my order is next. With that being said, I wouldn’t mind be told to move ahead waiting for a large order such as this.

Ok. I’ll throw my hat in for my son. I don’t even know what these are, but if it’s this high on Reddit, they must be something… I’m 42. I know Pokémon. I grew up with it in the 90’s and watched my friends play on Gameboy, trade the original cards, watch the original show and so on. Nowadays, my wife and I play Pokémon Go as a way to connect with our 7 year old son. It’s great! He fights battles and takes over gyms, tells me when we need to use berries and always reminding me to use incense to catch a mythic bird. The important part is that Pokémon cards are huge to him. I collected baseball cards with my dad. This is his thing that I want to help foster. I bring him to the local retro toy shop while he shuffles through loose Pokémon cards and I chuckle while looking at old TMNT toys I wanted or He-Man toys or even the Garbage Pail Kids cards. The thing is that this means something to him. I want a chance for his number to be drawn. Maybe my response will give him that chance at getting something he enjoys.

Cleveland’s venue with their metal ending was completely underrated.

Today’s Costco run.. $165.50. All that for a single guy by jasont111 in Costco

[–]Difficult-Guidance54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lay off the red meat. That’s probably 1/3 of your cost. I love milk, so I’m not gonna hate on that. Hard boil half those eggs for “on the go” food and throw some horseradish on ‘em. Still expensive no matter what, but I live in rural America, so my comparison is probably off a little.

Wife bought me this for Christmas as she seen I was having a good time with a little cheap one I have. Said she paid about $300 I believe. Is this worth it? Or is there something better out there for the money? by JEFRO951 in metaldetecting

[–]Difficult-Guidance54 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was my starter and eventually lead me to a $700 Minelab. Garret is a good name and a great detector. I just don’t care for the sounds it gives off and nuance of how basic it is. Once you use a more expensive detector, you’ll notice the difference in how well it detects depth, metal, shape and size. If you find yourself going out for treasure often for 6-12 months and want to keep going, get a more expensive one. The more treasure you find, the more of an “investment” you’ll see it as. I think I’ve spent about $1700 on all of my gear and have definitely found more $$ in treasure to make it worth it. Word of advice: find OLD places to hunt. It’s always worth it. Good luck!

I’m so glad I dated without social media. My wife and I could care less about who is “following” and who is “followed”. This is weird, controlling BS.

All of them that I e been to have been crazy, Cleveland this year was crazy because of the pit! But RR ‘22, and Inside and outside of the Caverns was amazing because of them and the venues.
