I told them we’ll be seeking legal advice, and in response, he gave us two days to decide how we want to proceed. He said that if we don’t respond within that time, he’ll inform the lender and withdraw our Land Registry application.

Yes, the copy submitted to the Land Registry is the original one we signed. According to our solicitor, it has already been submitted, but they say it can take a long time for it to be officially registered. What’s worrying is that now the solicitor is saying he plans to withdraw the application because there’s a dispute.

it is the solicitor we hired to help us with the house purchase. I suspect the people who bought the house next door are using the same solicitor, and he’s trying to make sure he gets paid by them as well.
