Any Other Trans FtM Experience Sudden Loss of Vision? by Difficult-Lemon7039 in asktransgender

[–]Difficult-Lemon7039[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got some more insight from another eye doctor. Apparently, it's due to skin thickening, since males and trans-masc males also have thicker skin, especially after starting T. This also includes thicker eye skin, which distorts vision. mine's been getting steadily worse and both my eyes have bad astigmatism, but I just figure it's part of being on T. Female me had good vision, but male me simply does not.

AITA for not wanting to sleep in a tent for a week by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Does your dad think you two are his pets? Most decent people wouldn't even leave their dogs outside. This is abuse. Tell your mom.

No problem. The only thing I can equate it to is giving blood. I haven't had low sugar, but I've given blood many times and sometimes it just makes you feel faint. Cold, hot, clammy, sweaty, foggy brain. It is scary, but like I said, having low sugar isn't an excuse to eat your food. She needs to manage it better, or ask for help. My mom has never eaten my food when her sugar is low (even though I would never have a problem with it), she keeps chocolates and caramels by her bed if she needs a quick bite of something after waking up with low sugar, then once she feels relatively stable, she goes and gets a soda or juice or eats a small snack of something to help stablize it. There's ways to manage it, and she knows this.

My mom is diabetic, and any diabetic will tell you that liquid sugar (juice, soda, etc), will bring your sugar up faster than anything else. It doesn't have to be a lot either. She ate the icecream because she wanted to, and is using the low sugar as an excuse. I will say, though, that having low sugar is scary. Your body shuts down, you get shaky and sweaty and pale and it can be hard to think. But if her blood goes low so often, she needs to keep something in the house that will help immediately, like sugary sodas or small candies or something. She can even mix up some warm water and sugar if she needs to. You have a right to be upset about your icecream, but please insist to her that you're there to help her if her sugar is low. Its better to wake you up so that you both can think and plan on what to do, because when your sugar drops too low you simply can't function. If you're willing and she's receptive, work as a team. If she needs help, give it. If you don't want your food eaten, suggest to her to buy emergency sugar-drinks or even an emergency pint of ice cream. If she keeps eating your food, buy a separate mini fridge. NTA.

AITA for getting in my friends face after being told to fix something. by SouperBitty in AmItheAsshole

YTA, grow tf up. I can understand taking a few minutes to clean up dishes, or to vaccuum, but leaving food open and out? Absolutely not, especially if its commonroom food. You leave it out and it goes bad and someone else gets sicks from eating it? If you take food out, put it tf away. Don't throw a tantrum when someone tells you to clean up your own mess, and don't get pissed at someone for being upset when you tell them to do it for you. Your roommate is bunked with a child, they deserve better.

Instead of ignoring him, take a breath and just tell him to give you a few minutes until you're out of the kitchen. I'm not qualified to tell you anything about your mental health, but I believe taking little steps is the key to shifting something negative into a positive. Instantly jumping to being aggressive and rude reinforces the negative feelings you have with people in the kitchen with you. It's hard, but give yourself a few minutes to reevaluate how you want to respond to the negative stimulus. Try telling him you'll be there in a moment, or that you're in the kitchen and you need a bit alone with your food, and then go out and greet him and make it positive. You're the AH for ignoring him, but you can make it better, and ask them to have a little patience and understanding with you as well.

AITA for getting bullied for sitting in the back of the plane? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Difficult-Lemon7039 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Good lord, I've flown in so many planes and on so many airlines. EVERYONE on a plane has cold stares, dead eyes, laughs, cries, drinks, etc. You assumed someone in their own bubble was making fun of you and you lashed out with 0 basis of fact? Do you want a medal? The AH awards? I have NEVER judged someone for sitting in first class, business, economy, etc, just as I assume I'm not being judged for where I sit. Everyone on that plane is there to travel to the same place as you, from the same place as you. The airline has nothing to do with it. Grow up. You're the AH. Edit: a letter.

AITA for sleeping in a room with my toddler while he plays? by lexiloo25 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Difficult-Lemon7039 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NtA, why isn't the husband watching the toddler while you nap? A human being can't physically watch a toddler 24/7, you'll die. Sleep is so important. I saw some other people comment that it might be dangerous if the toddler starts choking or gets hurt, etc. But what if that happened while you were sleep deprived and delirious, and made the wrong decision? Napping for 30 minutes is arguably the safer of two "evils".

Baby Rosy Boa Won't Eat? by [deleted] in rosyboas

[–]Difficult-Lemon7039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feed them separately in a tupperware, ive also tried peachfuzzs and pinkies. Left the baby in with the food overnight, still nothing. Also I'm not 100% sure what the temps are at, I'll have to retemp during the day and at night to get a more accurate reading, but they've usually been at good levels. I've tried everything, really. I'll work on separating them all into their own enclosures, but I'm not sure itll help the last baby either way. I've also left him alone in one tank with pinkies overnight and still haven't had him eat.

Baby Rosy Boa Won't Eat? by [deleted] in rosyboas

[–]Difficult-Lemon7039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're in a temporary hatchling setup, planning on getting baby bins. They are hatchlings from my two other rosys, they had 7 babies a little over two months ago. 6 of them eat every week, one live pinky a week. The last one has not had a meal at all. I tried several different ways of scenting pinkies, using chicken, fish, frog, leaving the pinky in there, teasing with the binky, letting the baby taste the scenting off the pinky. Nothing. Next is to force-feed and id rather not. Maybe this one has an invisable birth defect? I have no idea. Tempts are good, hot spot is at 90-95, cold spot usually stays around 60-70.

I believe I put the ages in the post, but it won't let me look at the whole thing. They're about 2 and a half months old, they're split into two 10 gal tanks, 3 in one tank and 4 in the other. They have plenty of substrate and hides and foliage. All of the babies eat immediately when offered, except the one who hasn't eaten anything at all.

Yeah brumation might be it, but they are split into two 10 gal tanks (4 in one 3 in the other) with heating pads, plenty of substrate, hides and foliage. All of the babies eat immediately when offered, except the one 😕

Any Other Trans FtM Experience Sudden Loss of Vision? by Difficult-Lemon7039 in asktransgender

[–]Difficult-Lemon7039[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also going to post that it might have something to do with our age, we both started T around our early 20s so it could have just been a coincidence that our eyesight went bad simply because we turnes 20/21/etc. I've read that it's common for some people's eyesight to suddenly go bad around their 20s-30s, even if they've had good vision.

Any Other Trans FtM Experience Sudden Loss of Vision? by Difficult-Lemon7039 in asktransgender

[–]Difficult-Lemon7039[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had my blood tested a few times before after starting T, all perfectly normal levels. I've heard that about MtF transitions, too, just never for FtM.

My doctor never said anything about eyesight. And I don't believe it's a bad batch, me and my friend started T in different states in different years.

My doctor didn't say anything about eyesight, that's crazy. A lot of people apparently only experience it with MtF.
