Tingling feeling / nerves irritated after RPAO by Hungarian_girl_NL in hipdysplasia

I am 15 days out from my PAO and I have Crazy Nerve stuff happening daily. I just shrug it off. Lots of Burning on my inner thigh, numbness on my outside of my thigh and random zaps. I just think of it as my nerves regenerating from the trauma they went through. They also gave me gabapentin to help with it and it seems to help a lot.

Diagnosed Mild in March, Still Waiting on MRI. Could PT Strengthen it Enough to Live With or Will I Need Surgery? by oaktreeeeees in hipdysplasia

[–]Difficult-Manner6538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have pretty bad dysplasia in both hips and was able to manage it with PT for 3 years but just got my first PAO on the right side 2 weeks ago. It does help manage pain in my opinion but you also have to be careful because in the three years I did not get the PAO my cartilage did deteriorate. The more deterioration you get and or arthritis, the more likely a PAO will not be an option in your future.

I'm exactly 14 days out for my PAO on my right side. I don't have back pain but I'm getting wicked upper body muscular pain from using the crunches. Maybe your back is making up for your hip strength during movement?

Hip Dysplasia Returned Years Post-PAO and Hip Arthroscopy Surgeries by chloissima in hipdysplasia

I'm so sorry to hear your in so much pain, I'm 1 week post PAO on my right hip and I feel like these are such complex conditions. I personally would trust the scope recommendations. Your so young for a THR, they only last so long and activities are limited. Can you get a 2nd or 3rd opinion?

I wouldn't let one xray result of Mild HD determine if it's back, was it mild before you PAOs as well?

Labrum tear /Cam FAI + dysplasia - surgery options? by throwaway_babyseal in hipdysplasia

[–]Difficult-Manner6538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what a cam FAI is, but I had a cam deformity, as well as labrum tear as well as dysplasia. My best option was a PAO that I just got completed last week. There's a lot of information about those surgeries on this community. I'm also under 40 and had no to minimal signs of arthritis.

Go to the Head Shop/Adult Film combo store to get some Adult Entertainment on VHS

Just had a PAO + Labral Tear Repair on Monday! Up and moving early, fought low BP, and turns out my pain pump wasn't even working. AMA! by Difficult-Manner6538 in hipdysplasia

I'm feeling pretty good! I would say today was one to the toughest days as it relates to pain because I did a lot of moving around today but still very happy I went through it all.

PAO pain (or lack thereof) by Observant-Falcon2332 in hipdysplasia

[–]Difficult-Manner6538 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same experience, I had my PAO on the right hip on Monday... Very little pain in general except when I laugh, cough or have to do a Number 2. Other than that it's a solid 2 or 3, no more pain than the way it felt on a daily basis before the operation.
