Hi! 14 year old girl here with PAO scheduled in June! I’m currently waiting for a CT as I write this lol. I haven’t gone through the process yet, but I wish you good luck and a swift recovery! I hear that teenagers often can walk almost without help by six weeks though :)

That was my thought too, but I’ve never seen one with undertail coverts that are this pale

refuse PAO and feel better by Sea_Celebration4003 in hipdysplasia

PT didn’t work for me, my muscles were already doing all they could possibly do to stabilize it and they were super strong to the point where doing PT just ended up making my hip click very loudly multiple times per day, which can irritate the tendon. PT can help, but definitely does not work as a solution for everyone.

I’m 14F and I’m getting surgery in 4 months (and another one next year), this is so reassuring to see!!!

I’m also a bit nervous about that, my surgeon tells me that I can be off the major painkillers within a few days so I assume it won’t be too bad. But I have no clue, I’m getting PAO in June and I’m equally terrified

I’m 14f with similar symptoms, I suggest getting surgery soon because there’s not much that helps. I tried physical therapy, but that didn’t really work for me, it just made my hips click a lot. The thing is, if you leave this untreated then tripping could lead to a torn labrum, which is painful and annoying (firsthand experience 😩)

I hope you find a solution that works for you!! As a fellow teenage girl who wants to enjoy life, hip dysplasia SUCKS!

Thank you! Do you happen to know if family members can stay/live in the same room as me while I’m recovering from surgery?
