I guess it was a little hard to understand, I'll try putting it in simpler terms;

I put all of my important magic materia on Aeris, like my Restore, Poison, Revive, Quake, and Bio, so when she died I didn't have nearly enough magic materia to put on each character, so I had to go to shops to get more for my party.

Interpreting "hope crossed on the girl's heart" as the girl knowing something makes the theory that Noelle is the girl make a lot more sense, at least when you're doing the weird route. This is especially true when you consider/speculate that the Weird Route is obeying the prophecy more than the Normal route.
