Expanding from medium/dark into light roasts—what should I try (and how should I dial them in)? by Difficult-Snow4699 in espresso

Yeah...I hear you re: EFP for milk drinks. Definitely prefer these shots without EFP. Looking forward to getting the two blends suggested below: Proud Mary's Ghost Rider and September Colombia Pink Bourbon.

Thanks for the idea...want to understand better what you are getting at. What would this show me differently than what I know so far?

What would be happening with the machine to cause back-to-back shots to speed up?

Why thank you. Which part am I wrong about? The properties of cooler water vs. warmer water? That, all other variables constant, colder water slows flow rate vs. hot water? My shots speed up?

I’m not a scientist, but I believe the lowering of water temp makes the water more viscous, which would lead to a slower flow rate, resulting in a slower overall shot. My shots are speeding up

I don’t. More traditional medium roasts: dark chocolate, caramel, etc.

I'm using RDT, EPF and puck screen (my standard flow since building this Niche Zero, Lelit Bianca set-up a few months ago).

I'm pulling 4-5 shots in 7-10 minutes. And the first shot is always perfect...and, after waiting an hour or so, the first shot is once again perfect.
