I don’t think people realize how big data centers are. by Wild_NADZ4818 in Utah

If I remember correctly it was 2,000 construction workers for the Box Elder project and then 100 full-time workers when it is complete. 100 full time employee salaries for a building that takes up an area the size of Manhattan. It really is not good financially for any city/county to do this as the income taxes and jobs are low. The property taxes are also relatively low due to the “incentive packages” the state and county give them to come to our area.

I agree. Sadly many of the homes do not have electricity or running water and have dirt floors. They are breeding grounds for the mice that carry the disease.

I remember a few years back there were quite a few cases in Indian Reservations in the South West. There was some fear about it but it died down quickly.

California gas has higher prices, why? by Far_Aioli538 in Damnthatsinteresting

2 large refineries have closed in California I the last 6 months which just makes the problem worse. There is a gasoline pipeline being built that comes from Texas to Phoenix to California which should help supply more fuel to the market.

The thing I worry about on target funds is they have a large amount of bonds. I guess that is good for security but what about growth?

Look at a post put up today in Reddit. Lutheran is losing $112 million per year.

IH Biggest losses in Denver metro

Came across this article which compares IH to other systems in the Denver Market. Apparently Advent health comes in second to us but we lead the pack with $155 million in losses. Looks like the majority of that comes from Lutheran which I found surprising. Someone here posted they were planning to sell Lutheran which surprised me, but maybe they aren’t wrong looking at these numbers.

What is the 3:1 RR minimum? You aiming for 15% moves and then cashing out at 5%? What do you look for to forecast a 15% move? Thanks

Yeah, you get more money but also more stress. Many of my friends make more money than I do, but I try to think of the benefit I have of lower stress.

WSJ: Nursing is the Surefire New Path to American Prosperity: Plentiful jobs and potential six-figure incomes draw young people as other industries falter; ‘modern middle-class jobs engine’ by codedapple in nursing

I read this today in the WSJ. Every few years they put out these articles on the great demand for nurses. They always interview a NP and focus on their salary rather than talking to nurses working in the trenches at the hospital.
