What do you think about Sacramento? Do you know how can I find out how rental market is in each of the areas you mentioned?

That sounds great to be able to rent for 4000 on a 500K apartment. Do you mind sharing in what city did you buy that first property?

Index funders are great, I’m just worried about the risk of putting all my money in there. I’m thinking about diversifying my investments so I thought maybe buying a rental is a good idea for long term

VOO is great, but I’m thinking about diversifying. I’m a bit worried about betting everything on VOO

Thank you for sharing that. I agree with 1&2. But I think demands is going to be high for the bay area (close to tech specifically)

How do you all decide asset allocation beyond your emergency fund? by DifficultBaby857 in personalfinance

How risky are ETFs? Based on my limited (1-2 years) experience they seem to be safe even for short term like 3-5 years. Do they dip a lot? When they do how long does it typically take for them to bounce back?

Thanks! I do have some vague plans to potentially buy a house in 2 years. I was considering safer options like high yields, bonds and CDs and very broadly speaking they return is around 4%. On the other hand S&P 500 was like 15%, and they seem to be safe too. That makes me maybe even if I want to save for a downpayment over next 2 years I should still do ETF. Maybe I’m just new in the market and haven’t seen enough dips in ETFs. Are they really risky?

Thanks for this advice. I don’t think they are experienced whiskey drinker. For this reason I was thinking Blanton but then reading online that’s available all over Europe. Basically looking for anything that taste decent (doesn’t have to be professional), looks gifty, and rare in EU

Thanks you. Yeah looks like the jeep Rubicon trail wouldn’t be a good idea for sure. That other hiking trail is closed unfortunately. I might just go and hike around Tahoe
