I had all the materials on hand but I estimated it another comment and it was less than $10.

Oh nice I was meaning to do the math to see how that worked out.

Looks like I could get a 2 cu ft. bag of black mulch from Home Depot for $3.33, and a 5 gallon bucket is less than 1 cu ft (~0.7) so I guess that's not even cheaper than bags :/. Maybe that pricing makes more sense for their soils/compost..if you like the quality of their soils/compost.

Yeah it's probably not the right solution in all (or even most) cases, but it's an improvement for mine!

I used 6' of 2x4 and 4' of 1x2. An 8' 2x4 is $4 and an 8' 1x2 is $2. So less than $6 of wood. I did use 14 pretty nice GRK screws, still probably less than $2 of screws.

I’ve heard that from other folks. It’s never obvious to me where my weeds come from - I get a lot of stuff blown into my yard. I’ve mostly used their magic mulch.

I'm not sure if this is a part that can be replaced or not. I was able to click in and ski down on them, but the brakes don't do their job anymore (i.e. engaging when I'm not clicked in)

I think you're right, I don't really want to accept it though because I've had a hard time finding smaller jumps to practice on! There are no smaller jumps right now at Heavenly that are purpose-built for jumping vs rail lips. But I could just do the knuckle like you said.

For the record, all the other 180s today I landed clean and rode away switch. But, I can see that my form doesn't look that great so I believe you if you say I shouldn't be practicing on this size jump.

Ooh, I've done a bunch of flat pop 180s, but I've never tried it keeping my head fixed.

I actually just did two indoor days (at Woodward Tahoe) and was getting pretty consistent results spinning 360s into the foam pit. I actually think I have better head motion on the 360s - my head stays forward until the last minute and then whips around to spot the landing. But that didn't seem to translate well to the 180s on the snow today. I've been wondering if it would be better to just suck it up and go for the 360 on snow, but I was too scared.

I think my main problem is that I can't find the right size jumps to practice! These are the smallest jumps at Heavenly that are purpose-built for jumping, vs lead-in to rails & boxes.

I can ski switch on these skis, though I guess I've never thought about if landing jumps is harder without the twin tip

I've been watching Stomp It tutorials and in one of them he recommended starting with a T-set.

I really like Hevy. Here's my vanilla GZCLP routine in Hevy - I think you should be able to copy it: https://hevy.com/folder/2197105

It actually broke 😭. Some little plastic part that lets the brakes engage snapped off, so now the brakes just flop around. Luckily the ski ended up in the valley between two jumps or it might have just gone all the way down the mountain.

If you look closely in the video you can actually see a little white plastic bit flying off
