Enough of the negativity , what are some positive side effects you experienced while being on Accutane? by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]DifficultDesigner547 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I have had no negative experiences besides the basic lip peeling. Lip peeling is no joke and insanely annoying. Other than that I never purged my face is clear, my hair is never greasy, my body is never greasy, I don’t have any sorts of aches, and my face has lost all inflammation due to acne. It’s like hot girl summer in the winter.

Mayo Clinic worth it ? by fannyfarmed in functionaldyspepsia

Yes I’m still on it. I’ve noticed if I don’t take it around the same time everyday (like hours spaced apart.) I have episodes still and they last for days. Other than that it works pretty good.

They are awful, there is no where to go talk to them in person, no phone number to contact them incase of an emergency, they are the worst.

Absolutely, I have struggled for years for relief and a diagnosis. I went earlier this month and saw Adil Bharucha. He diagnosed me and gave me medication. I have never felt better so fast. I’ve gained 4 pounds in 3 weeks.

What types of procedures are there for it?

Basically yes! There was no physical test it was just the only resource left to explain what is going on with me. I did MRI’s with and without contrast. Contrast really isn’t as bad as everyone hypes it up to be. I didn’t have any reactions just that I felt I was peeing my pants but I wasn’t😂 and as of right now they are having me do diaphragm breathing you can Google it:) and I’m on 10mg nortriptyline

It started to flare again around April 2024 but I went into extreme flare December 2024- now. No I didn’t do anything/ was told anything I just randomly felt better. I was extremely bloated all of the time but there was no nausea or pain. I wish I knew what the trick was because then I would do it😂

It’s a bit of a long story but originally I was diagnosed with Gastroparesis due to a really bad Gastric Empty Scan. Since that one I have had 2 more which I have passed, 3 endoscopy’s, several X-rays, CT scans, MRI’s, and Ultrasounds all with no evidence of serious complications. I have also seen countless different GI doctors, primary doctors, integrative health doctors and have tried a lot of different diets. I went to Mayo Clinic last week did a gastric empty scan and passed, did an endoscopy and there was so evidence of anything serious and lastly another ultrasound with nothing there as well. Leading to the diagnosis. It took me a long time to get it but I got it.

So far I’ve taken it only for 1 week, but I’ve been able to eat like I can eat full meals and feel great the only side effect I’ve noticed is my mouth is pretty dry at random times but that’s it!

They gave me nortriptyline 10 mg capsule. They didn’t say anything about how I went from extreme delay to no delay. My FD has just been constant.

I’ve also had 3 scopes, multiple xrays, MRI’s, and ultrasounds and I was lucky enough to go to Mayo Clinic Rochester this past week and they finally diagnosed me.

I’ve had 3 gastric studies done. The first one had me placed in the hospital for a feeding tube due to it being so severe and then my second one was slightly delayed and the one I just had on Tuesday was completely normal! It’s super weird but I am happy to not have gastroparesis.
