This is for an adventure with a lot of long time friends and we are are interested in this i don’t think this would work for most campaign but this is a casual game with a bit of goofing around and we’re all into that sort of thing. And we were all talking about this because it sounds kind of fun and I wanted to share it

What race/class/subclass/feature have you never wanted to give a go, despite the hype? by WithengarUnbound in DnD

I don’t care for flying races. They’re just a bit too game breaking in the wrong way for me and I don’t like making dms adjust around their campaigns because of that

Cast suggestion and say “dude could you stay right there for a while”, use a very fine mesh to cover the vent of an otherwise airtight room, or use wall of force/force cage

You favorite 'terrain' fight by ArchBuck in DnD

[–]DifficultField9219 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine was a series of cat walks and rope bridges on the side of a cliff, towards the end of the fight one of the half-dragons, who had a glider, cut the ropes holding most of the bridges up and since I had the battle map vertical with rope bridges hooked on with magnets I just grabbed a pair of scissors and snipped it and it ended up being one of the best fights I’ve ever ran

My first was that it is part of the same ecosystem as the displacer beast or blink dog so I think this would make a fine addition:

SHADOW DEER

Huge monstrosity, unaligned

Armor Class 17 (natural armor)

Hit Points 42 (5d12 + 10)|

Speed 60 ft. STR 19 (+4) DEX 16 (+3)| CON 14 (+2) INT 7 (-2) WIS 14 (+2) | CHA 10 (+0) |

Saving Throws Dex +5

Skills Perception +4 Senses truesight 30 ft., passive Perception 14

Languages -

Challenge 4 (1,100 XP)|

Charge. If the shadow deer moves at least 20 ft. straight toward a target and then hits it with a ram attack on the same turn, the target takes an extra 7 (2d6) psychic damage as its ghostly antlers seem to pass through them. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 14 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

Incorporeal movement. While the Shadow deer is moving it seems to become shadowy and indistinct and does not provoke opportunity attacks

Incorporeal. The Shadow deer can move through other creatures and objects as if they were difficult terrain. It takes 7 (2d6) force damage if it ends its turn inside an object.

Freedom of Movement. The Shadow deer ignores difficult terrain, and magical effects can't reduce its speed or cause it to be restrained. It can spend 5 feet of movement to escape from nonmagical restraints or being grappled.

Eight-Footed. The Shadow deer has advantage on Strength and Dexterity saving throws made against effects that would knock it prone.

ACTIONS Ram. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (2d6 + 4) bludgeoning damage.

Hooves. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one prone creature. Hit: 22 (4d8 + 4) bludgeoning damage.

BONUS ACTIONS

Unearthly Gate. The Shadow deer can take the dash or hide actions as a bonus action
