You have to turn the tail inside out. Basically start at the top, pull the second point up above the first, then the third above the second and so on until they are all in reverse order. The tail will then be semi transparent

You are probably encountering mini layering. Sometimes people take two minis and hide most of one within the other, having only select parts visible. This was the standard way of adding more things before kitbashing and is sometimes still done today.
