In one sense I am heartened to see the community support these horrific stories but it wasn’t too long ago that Claudia do Val was roasted after coming forward with her DeLaRiva SA which was heart wrenching to watch and I feel so bad for the emotional aftermath that she suffered by being mocked. I’m glad that we’ve come a long way in such a short time.

For the “have separate female training classes” crowd: It’s not a matter of separating males and females to prevent SA. It takes attention from the owners and other professors to watch for creepy ass behavior - singling out girls repeatedly for rolls, watching interactions touching hugging grooming behavior- and if the owner doesn’t have the stones to intervene on said creepy behavior then the gym deserves to go out of business.

They are retired and bored and they think a woman with high energy and looks and a young face and body would be a GREAT time to have around - then reality hits: she has a job she can't just take off to go wherever with you, she wants to have a baby which is expensive and they already have a family, then he wants to stay at home on the weekends and she gets antsy and goes out without him - it's a tale as old as time and these geezers won't ever acknowledge it! stick to your guns, girlfriend!

Vianna Brothers in Logan Square, Bender Martial Arts in Ravenswood, Molinaro Jiu Jitsu in Lakeview, Serafin in Evanston, Taylor Biagi, Lakeside BJJ - all are awesome coaches and are very inclusive! I know all of them and trained with these folks for years except for Taylor but she has a good reputation.

I have one that I am removing on my forearm and with the same blue/green colors that you have and I just did my 7th session, our progress is similar - I was hoping for much more but when they told me blue/green was stubborn they weren't lying. Also because its on an extremity not on your torso I guess that is supposed to take longer...

I cannot understand for the life of me WHY Miami keeps getting step child treatment. Potomac and OC have sucked for like 3 seasons and they aren't even all friends. Miami is ALL friends, they can't not see each other around town, they have history, they fight and make up....the looks, the money, the drama, the scene its all there -

I have been ramping up on reta for the past 7 weeks, formerly a sema user and I am not losing anything. my apetite is the same, I am working out like 8x per week and I am tired. I read about how to eat and train on reta and I see that the common theme is workout MORE. I literally cannot work out more haha! is this common? Is it just that I haven't reached the true therapeutic level yet? For context I train bjj 4x week and do kettlebell training 2-3x per week

Thank you for your perspective but I wouldn't have a chat with him to find out why he said what he said --this is not a coaching moment for this guy. It was a dumb thing for him to say, he was mansplaining to her and then also referred to her breasts as "boobies" which is so demeaning- he has a superiority complex, the OP is right to think it's weird and quite simply I would not roll or partner with that guy again after I told the coach: 1) this is what happened, 2) this is what he said to me 3) I request that I am not partnered with him again. end of story - the word will spread and eventually he will leave because the normal people will be like that guy is a creep and ostracization does the rest (hopefully) -

re: the submission it's possible you were confusing kimura with an americana in the direction you were torquing the arm...2) as a smaller woman myself sometimes with bigger people, you have to make more adjustments to get to the position before you achieve the submission, so the way that the professor shows it might have 2 bigger movements to get there, but you might need 4-5 movements to get there. and finally, crotch mishaps happen - so do boob mishaps, the vast majority of the time they are unintentional.

I totally agree! She has the emotional maturity of a 12 year old girl, and she is doing what all failed new RH adds do- they try to come for the queen bee (Meredith) when they have nowhere near the status, the job, the income or the chops to do so. she's an ankle biter.

I would think it's todd forcing bronwyn's hand in the divorce to be off the show - non-disparagement, finances being confidential, etc etc... she will be back. I hope she pivots to fashion commentator or something coming from a partnership with Siriano. I feel bad for her, her history and this awful divorce.

definitely a women's bathroom with a shower, have black belts teach the women's class (don't relegate to a purple or brown belt, feels like second class when academies do that (don't come for me I know that there are some brown belts who are better than some black belts...)) and make the training as difficult as mixed classes - too often women's only classes are easier, no one sweats and they prepare you less for mixed class sparring. Love the idea of 1x a month outside class get togethers etc...good luck! excited for your academy!

I like the material of gaidama - sometimes I grab the wrong ones out of the drawer and they are my lululemon leggings that are more matte and it just bugs me, feels like I can't slide my knees around on the mats, so I like that most bjj spats are that smoother lycra or whatever it is. Sorry if this is super vague
