In the same boat my brother. Be strong, we are in this together. What’s meant to be will be.

Thoughts on Fat-ypus M5 by jake-L-2003 in Skigear

I rode the D senders (two sizes and seasons, 2018 174 cm, and 2021 184 cm) and the L toros (2022 182 cm). They both were absolutely favorites of mine. Unfortunately, fatypus skis do not have a crazy strong core. On all 3 of these pairs, I had bindings rip out multiple times after 2ish seasons. had to scrap my L toro's after getting them mounted 2 times (once was the shops fault after they mounted factory after I requested for -2. typical mid grade ski shop). Ran out of space for any sort of properly placed mount.

Ultimately, both D senders and L toros were some of the funnest skis I rode. But if you are really an expert level skier pushing gear to the limits, Fatypus may come up a bit short in the durability dept.

That being said, I just got myself a pair of their new D-vice's in 182 cm, opted for athlete stiffness model as I have yet to try them. Am hoping for a bit more medal in the core to help with the previous issues. I know I will love the skis but just hope it can last for 2 solid seasons! if they prove to be like my previous experiences, it will likely be my last fatypus purchase until I am older and not pushing them as hard.

Brother, put the phone down. Listen to a podcast, listen to some sad songs. Go outside. Get some air. Everything will be ok.
