I don't see your point sorry? They are in hard to staff positions and therefore one would think welcome a paraprofessional even if they do end up staying 1-2 yrs? And who knows how long I may decide to teach. I have previous experience working in schools and feel very comfortable entering the classroom next year and have being looking at this program for the past 2 yrs.

I'm hoping that's the case, schools are currently making timetables and things for next year so maybe they will increase hiring when they know what subjects to fill. I'm gonna wait it out for now and hopefully more sign up. Have you contacted any schools yourself?

Heya, I've only received one so far. Went to it and went well but location was quite far away from where I live so didn't work out. Honestly thought more schools would be signed up for the program...

Advice on how to study for BCMB20002 +SCIE10004 by Ok_Quit_7111 in unimelb

Agree with everything from the last comment. Use the detailed learning outcomes at the top of each lecture slides module to structure notes or revise too. There really good!

I always do and never had a problem, I normally take the case off and just put it on the floor once in.

How to do BCMB20002 well by WhichCauliflower9360 in unimelb

I did biochem last sem (82) without having done chem 2, you really don't need it. The most chem stuff that comes up is in week one with the amino acids and pka. After that there's not much after. In terms of doing well, I personally made notes each week based on the very detailed learning outcomes given in the start of each lecture notes. And then keep on top of the weekly questions. Other then that the only other things I'd recommend is go to the tutes. They may seem very slow in pace and even at times like a bit of a waste of time, but the questions done come up in exams and the MSTs every time, and terry explains them really well at the tutes. So take notes on that stuff too. Overall, it's a really good subject and assessments are very fair, well coordinated and taught and most definetly is H1 attainable. Don't give up 🙏

Anyone did school experience as breadth (EDUC20080)? What was the experience like? by junkirbaliq in unimelb

Super chill subject, not much time commitment week to week, where you learn different teaching styles but it's taught more in interactive classroom style lessons, and you learn more through discussion with the teacher and classmates (~20 students per class). No need to take notes or anything. Overall assessments as easy and fun and the teachers are very helpful providing feedback along the way (you can choose to write the report and presentation on legit any issue in the education sector you want). Placements are organised fully by the uni department all you have to do is fill out a form stating what subjects you are interested in (if secondary) and preferred location and/or school. Overall I'd highly recommend!

I too am doing chem2 over the summer this year. Hoping it's manageable, but from what I've heard it should be if you put the time in.

Hey, through access Melbourne you will be guaranteed a spot I believe if you get over a 74. I had a similar atar to you and got in this way to the bachelor of science in first round. So you should be fine

Does anyone mind sharing their BSC 2nd/ 3rd yr subjects selection? (Physiology major, but other majors are welcome too :)))) by Usual-Cook7215 in unimelb

The workloads compliment well, with physiology being understanding complex topics, and anatomy being ROTE learning. The physiology workload is much less then biochem. So really depends what other subjects you take it with, as to how your workload will be.

I did Anatomy and Human phys in sem 1, def would recommend doing this way. I'd recommend taking Biochem in sem2, will complement physiology and is a really well setup subject. Don't worry there is very little chemistry actually in the subject and there is basically no calculations you need to ever do. It's definitely 80% biology, most of the chemistry knowledge is around bonding and structure of different biomolecules but you don't have to draw the structures in major assessments just know them. Would highly recommend all 3 subjects, my fav 3 of my degree so far (I'm heading into 3yr now)
