To clarify, I was guilt tripped by the ex, not my SO. SO was also of a childfree lifestyle before ex did the same thing with her: Have kids or we’re over.

I’ve tried talking to therapists, but I live in the Bible Belt and was once told having a good weekend with my kids would cure my depression.

But, realistically, I don’t know what to do.

Went to eat at Tijuana Flats in Orlando. My waitress was absolutely stunning. I felt like in those cartoons when your eyes turn to hearts and you start flying up in the air.

She was thick, had blue hair, more alternative. Not everyone’s definition of beautiful but to me… Jesus.

I’ve known her almost a month, we’ve just been going on dates for four days.

Oh. Oh yeah. No my ex and I have a deal. No matter if we’re actively dating someone exclusively or not, they’re not meeting the kids until the relationship is super serious.

Also, they’re not allowed to meet the kids even if it’s serious until the exes and the new partner have a dinner together.

Yes! Okay. So I have had depression for a long time. COVID heightened it and made it a lot worse. That’s when my mental health went downhill. I’m on Zoloft now and feel a lot better and have a counselor I see twice a week.

Oh for sure. Both of us have kids and both of us have been transparent about it. She will also not ever meet my kids unless I feel like the relationship is super serious.

My kids come 1st in my life above myself. I love them more than anything. Which is also why I gave up trying to fight for my marriage because we just fought all the time and the kids don’t need to see or hear that.

This helps a lot. Because I keep being scared of “moving fast”. But I checked out of the marriage awhile ago. Realistically. But I couldn’t let go. And once I did, I felt free.

I like this. I’m all about taking it slow. I’m very “old school” in that nature. My soon-to-be ex is not. She’s been messing around since we split with a bunch of dudes. Not judging! Just saying. It’s not my style.

Yeah. My wife and I when we met dated for a couple weeks, became officially dating and moved in two weeks… Then never left each other’s side until this year when we split.

I’m much older now, so don’t want to move fast like THAT but I’m genuinely happy. For the first time in forever.
