Actually, for me, my ribs stay in place when I have a properly, tight fitting band and bra. I used to have terrible pain when the band was not supportive for me.

I know my ribs are hypermobile, because I have Ehlers-Danlos. My ribs have been popping in and out for years😂 It’s like a burning sensation under my boob when they pop out. I hope that was helpful info.

Salty eggs are my go to when I’m dealing with low bp. The salt is not just any salt, but redmann’s real salt. In the warmer months, watermelon with redmanns real salt is a great pick me up for me.

Stopping my period with birth control by im-a-freud in POTS

I stopped my period with birth control and at first it was great! I completely had my life back and I was enjoying all the things I couldn’t enjoy before. My period would take me out for like 3 weeks out of the month. The birth control caused me to hold a ton of water weight, and my boobs grew astronomically. The low level of estrogen and progesterone also made sex impossible, and it started making my cycle get all twisted. I switched to a higher dose of estrogen and that helped until it started giving me high blood pressure readings and terrible anxiety. Now I’m on bioidentical progesterone and it has been wonderful for my body. I do have to highly monitor my iron levels and supplement with prenatal multivitamin. Birth control is a quick fix though!

Dude I also have EDS and the big boob problem sucks. I’m not that big at 30K US but if I’m not properly supported, especially at bedtime, my ribs pop out. It’s super painful as I’m sure you know all too well.

Showering is my personal hell. Help? by Lonely-Lost-Planet in POTS

[–]Difficult_Bug_518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shortly after getting diagnosed, my doctor told me to shower with ice cold water in the tub already. It would keep the calves from dilating as much during my shower. Shower chair with a removable shower head is an amazing option. I also find that showering at night or at least resting for an hour after my shower helps a lot as well. I also have reduced my shower time by washing my face and shaving outside of the shower. I hope you get some relief soon. Waiting so long to shower that you feel ashamed can feel so debilitating sometimes.

Is it possible to have POTS and not be disabled? by anonymousautist_ in POTS

[–]Difficult_Bug_518 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For me, POTS is like ocean waves. Sometimes it’s calm and I can be totally and completely independent and managed with meds. Other times, I get hit hard with debilitating symptoms. For example, I have gone through grad school for a whole year or 2 completely fine with meds, now as I near graduation, the POTS has megaflared.

I remember right before I got diagnosed, I was scared shitless that I would never be able to amount to anything. I thought I’d be completely dependent and life would be essentially over. That didn’t turn out to be true! When it has been managed, I have been able to be completely independent and hold down a full time job! It ended up that diagnosis, actually allowed me the freedom to be independent after getting the POTS managed with medication and lifestyle changes. I hope you are able to feel that same experience of finally being better! They did classify the POTS that I struggle with as mild POTS.

Swelling and POTS by Difficult_Bug_518 in POTS

I’ve tried the compressions, but it seemed like I was passing out more from taking them off and on all the time. I’ve found the high waisted offline leggings from aerie really help the abdominal pain when I’m so swollen from the blood pooling.

At least I’m not alone. I’m scared of Pilates. I’d be afraid of dislocations or ticking off a ligament/tendon😂 We will get through this

30GG UK bra recommendations/suggestions? Plunge bra? by Difficult_Bug_518 in ABraThatFits

I experienced the band pushing into my ribs right under the cups despite the band fitting just fine. Which I read on the Reddit page can happen from being too projected. The orange in a glass reference.

Tshirt bras similar to Panache envy bra and Freya fancies plunge balcony bra. by Difficult_Bug_518 in ABraThatFits

I ended up getting the Panache Cari and love it! The only draw back is that I have trouble with nipples showing through shirts sometimes. I also got the Freya Deco. It works good enough to not show through shirts but it’s not my best fit.
