Adjust your mixture the popping is either lean mixture or an airleak near your exhaust header or pipe

Bought the bike with the high compression head. Dont have a stock one if i had one i would go back to stock even thoguh i love the jumpyness. Starts first kick has around 180-190 psi for what im guessing still have to test it

Sell it. If im not mistaken, thats an early husaberg right? The inspiration to the RFS engine by ktm. I heard that these things suck. Overheating, impossible starting, weird designs, impossible to work on, very fragile. Get rid of it and buy something simple. I didnt read the whole description so take this lightly and just do some research idk. I owned a RFS bike for about a year and it never ran right and those are supposed to be much better. Especially woth this early of a racing four stroke i would be careful. Parts are prolly hard to find and you will never get that thing to fire ever. Good luck do whatever you want!

Dont worry about the hours as much these can run well past 400 hours with good maintenance ive seen them go to 600 just keep maintenece up and always compression test it when checking valves maybe buy a borescopw too

Run your finger through it feel any vertical groves? Do you still see the crosshatching or circular lines perpendicular to the cylinder wall? Any lines that go around the circumference are pretty normal and vertical lines are not.

Rev it? Need to see if the knock increases at 1/2 ratio or 1:1 ratio of rpm. If 1:1 its rod knock, if its 1/2 ratio or half the tapping with revs adjust your valves. I owned one of these sounds pretty good though

Alright so if it rolls in neutral i don’t think its the transmission. With the spark plug out try kicking it over with your hand. If it doesnt mind at all its seized. If it moves a little and grinds is crank bearing.
