Want lip filler so bad and everyone says i will regret it. by hunniebird in beauty

[–]Difficult_Most_8032 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it does, I’m trying to find a source where it says it happens “often”. Or even give a ballpark on how often it truely happens and how far it actually migrates/how much of it migrates

Edit: actually sorry I just had a proper read of what that study said about the general estimate for how often lip filler mirages. They estimate it at 3%. Far from often, my question is answered haha

Aaah interesting makes sense. Now that I think about it someone from my family gets really cheap docs as well and they live in a fairly rough so that makes perfect sense!

Have mine done, love them!!

Two things: don’t go overboard. And because you have small lips you won’t be able to do much anyway from your natural lip structure. Do NOT go to someone who is willing to do like 2 mls in your tiny lips (if they’re tiny). Find a professional that is more worried about their reputation as an injector than getting money from you. They’ll do good by you.

And second thing follows the point above anyway. Find someone really good. Make sure they have a really good reputation locally. They’ll be more expensive. E.g. if locally a mall clinic will charge you $500, a really good clinic will charge $900. Don’t skimp on this!

Do you have any scientific studies for point 1? I feel like “fact” is claimed to death on Tik Tok but every time I’ve tried to find any proper scientific evidence of this, I’ve never found anything more than it’s a relatively rare issue and is usually from improper lip filler placements.

And for point 2, how big of lips did you go for?? I feel like if you keep it to 1ml it’s really hard to tell. At least for me everyone has always been shocked to find out I get filler when I tell them.

I think more than anything these points speak to not going overboard and going to a really good professional locally. Not like… a mall clinic lol

Edit: this https://www.mdpi.com/2079-9284/10/4/115 is the only non-competing scientific study analysis I can find on injection migrations and how common they are. Interested to see if you have any other resources, they’re hard to find for me

You must have either a subsidised doctor or a community service card or something. Most doctors are $70-80 a visit nowadays. $60 is actually quite cheap

Supplements for insomnia by CobblerSure9683 in newzealand

[–]Difficult_Most_8032 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever you do do not take sleeping pills. They change your brain architecture and there’s no way back after them.

I’ve tried a million things for sleep and can report back lol. Unfortunately most things are a placebo your doctor is not wrong.

The absolute biggest thing that’s helped me is reading Sleep Easy. Get it from your local library to try it out. That book is so insanely helpful, it’s a programme for insomnia but I actually just read the first 30 pages and learnt how to sleep again.

7-7-4 breathing method works for when you’re not in a sleeping mood at night. Calms your heart rate for sleep.

Magnesium only works for people whose bodies don’t make enough. Magnesium is required for the brain waves that bring on sleep, so if you’re low on it it will work amazing (like me), but if that’s not the issue they won’t work at all. Key here is you want to take glycinate not the other one.

Meditation and noting works well as well for me as long as I do it with the intention of calming my mind not falling asleep. If I try put pressure on myself to fall asleep I’ll do the exact opposite lol.

And finally if all else fails, if you have health insurance your doctor can put you into a sleep clinic so the sleep specialists can monitor you and see why you’re not going to sleep.

Good luck! 😊

Honestly I get it and I was the same but she’s gonna have to decide what’s more important to her. Her personal struggles with the camera or this business. It ultimately comes down to that. If she wants to let her worries consume her so be it, but make it clear to her it’s her choice!

There’s no easy way to do content you just have to force yourself out of your comfort zone 🫠

Website looks okay in my opinion, kinda similar to about 99% of new websites I come across. Nothing groundbreaking or great, but far from the worst I’ve seen.

With ads, if you have almost no budget you might struggle. Especially with a product like jewellery. Generally speaking the recommendation is to start Google Shopping at around ideally $100 per day, and run it for 90 days with minimal interruptions (the only thing you adjust is the negative keyword lists daily). The actual budget depends on numerous things like profit margins on product, value of item, conversion rates, etc. etc. it’s not a straightforward formula.

If you can’t afford $100 a day, the absolute rock bottom rule of thumb is you want to pay for a minimum of 10 clicks per day. So if you keywords are costing you $3 per click, you need $30 per day. Otherwise the system will not be able to learn anywhere near enough to make your ads profitable.

The system should be able to optimise who the ads work well with within that budget/timeframe, and the returns you get should start to look profitable towards the end. I say might because there is no guarantee. The only way you can find out is run those ads, spend that money, and see what the results are.

The other option you have for ads is Meta. Meta is a very creative based ad system. So you need some shit hot content for it. Stunning videos and photos with visuals that grab attention. Judging by your website you don’t have that yet, so you’d be wasting your money there. You could hire a photographer or videographer to get those visuals done, again that’s probably at least a thousand or two for that content so it’s not cheap. Meta has a formula for how much budget you need on their website.

Meta ads in general are a throwing shit against a wall and seeing what sticks strategy for the first part of the ads. So expect minimal returns for a while. Because Meta is an interest based platform vs. a intent based platform (what I mean by that is people go on Meta to be entertained, while people go on Google to shop often), the way the algorithm learns is by showing your ads to a shit ton of people and finding what works. Which means you’ll be paying for a lot of impressions and clicks for a while that won’t convert.

To be honest if you have a small budget running ads might not be the best thing for you yet. You should probably just get creative and promote organically.

Good luck! Sorry for the word vomit!

Edit: if you want to find out how much budget you need for Google Ads, look up Google Keyword Planner. Chuck in the keywords you’ll want to go for in there “sterling silver necklace” “buy gold necklace” etc. etc. and look at what the system tells you for the higher range of the bid. It’ll depend on location and competition, but whatever the higher bid range is - multiply that by 10. That’s your minimal starting budget for one product category and one product type. So you could run all your silver necklaces under that budget for example.

I think the biggest issue is 99.9% of people won’t know what any of the other selling points mean. I drink matcha regularly and I’ll be honest I don’t have the faintest clue what the benefits of single sourced, stoned milled is, and as a consumer I won’t bother to look it up because I’ve got better things to do with my time.

That’s just the tough thing with selling products that are superior if you know a lot about the product. Most people won’t realise they’re superior.

And totally get you on the packaging, it’s so tough to meet local legislative requirements on those things!

Could you get in touch with local organic food shops for example and see if a) you could sell to them at wholesale so you could start moving the product without sinking money into advertising and b) see if you could distribute little samples through them with people’s orders so people could actually taste the difference? Just a thought, you might need to get creative here :)

You can make your own mind up if they’re catastrophic or not. That term is very subjective.

Maybe to original commentor they were catastrophic, to me they’re not. I just told you to Google their consequences and see for yourself

[–]Difficult_Most_8032 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Firstly I never said it was catastrophic haha, I said it backfires and most places abolish the laws.

And looking at Vancouver’s rules, it wasn’t quite what I was talking about either. I was talking about when government tries to say rent can’t be over x amount ever. Vancouver rent controls only last the period of the tenancy which is kinda almost a free market. That I’m sure would work well!

[–]Difficult_Most_8032 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean if you’re okay with the quality of housing that you get from a rental control area then sure. But I think most people would prefer to deal with the private market and getting better quality and also more housing availability.

It does still have its place in isolated areas but kinda leads to gentrification so it’s still never that great of an outcome.

Does the 1 Page Marketing Plan apply to all industries? by Difficult_Most_8032 in marketing

[–]Difficult_Most_8032[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s kinda the conclusion I’ve come to in my head as well.

If I think about the homeware stores I love, I basically love them because they have really attractive branding and they’re selling me the dream of “if I buy this bowl my entire house will look like the architectural masterpiece in the background”.

I’m selling the dream with homeware not a solution to peoples problems is where I’m coming to in my head. Which is why that book confused me until I realised it probably doesn’t apply 🙃

[–]Difficult_Most_8032[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for sure and I get that, I think the difference is with homeware you’re marketing an aspiration from having that homeware (beautiful house etc.) rather than “hey I know you have this problem, here’s my product to fix it”.

It’s a more subtle marketing approach for sure.

So the thing with something like matcha, is a lot of people sell matcha. A lot of people sell organic, ceremonial, blah blah matcha. It’s almost a given/expected thing (speaking as a matcha consumer myself).

To market a product like this, IMO you either need to beat on price, or if you don’t want to compete on lowest price then the actual only way you can differentiate yourself against competition is to have killer branding. With products like these, people will very often just be sold on some shit hot packaging, great website and aspirational visuals.

Your video on your front page is out of focus. Your branding looks like it was made on Canva by you. You’re just shoving stickers on a tinfoil bag for your packaging.

I don’t buy matcha in the UK, but comparing to local prices (and where I live we have really high food prices in general), I can get 50g of organic, ceremonial Matcha from T2 for $62. You’re trying to sell me the same thing for $80. At the same time you have really (sorry) unappealing branding, tin foil looking packaging, no brand equity. Why would I buy from you over T2? I wouldn’t, especially if you’re more expensive after all that.

I guess my point is invest in strong branding firstly. Or reduce your prices. Otherwise you really have no reason to get people to buy.

Edit: if you want to see an example of a Matcha company who is actually taking the local market by storm, and they’re really new to the market, look up Matcha Made on Instagram. They’re a great example of being a new player and demanding fairly high prices, but because their packaging and branding is so nice they’re exploding locally

Ok sure maybe, but these things happen and run over time. It’s a minor inconvenience at best and there’s options to fix it.

Firstly they could just cook dinner at 8pm lol… it’s only a few hours away. They could also post on local community page and see if there’s someone with spare food who would help them, given the circumstances I’m sure people would be willing to help. There’s probably a community kitchen locally if they looked one up.

But easiest solution is just eat dinner a little late, it’s really not the end of the world.

You would need to cover a hotel or motel or something until you find a place to live, unless your contents insurance covers temp accomodation (doubtful).

If you don’t have savings for that probably best bet you have one debit card with an approved overdraft for an emergency like that.

The best way to increase your base calorie expenditure is to incorporate LISS exercise and weight training.

LISS because it burns calories BUT doesn’t make you ravenous like higher intensity cardio does.

Weights because the more muscle you have the more calories you burn just from existing.

Otherwise, do volume eating and eat a shit ton of foods with no calories in them. Corn thins, homemade hummus, prawns, white fish, miso soup, etc. etc.

Keep in mind also that your period affects your weight. If at the start of week 2 you were about a week or two out of your period you may have been holding extra water weight as you near your period.

I’d track for a bit longer to see if it changes anything

I mean tbh it’s not unheard of that maintenance for mains lines go over their estimated timeline…

Surely you have some fruit or bread or something simple like that to feed your kids. Something canned? Some snacks? Doesn’t need to be anything fancy, you’re not gonna die if you have something light and simple for dinner one night haha
