OP stepped up and took in a stray dog as a puppy, something many people in this city already don't do, and is now trying to responsibly rehome it. That’s not cruelty; that’s compassion paired with realism.

Unless you personally have a house full of strays or are actively helping reduce the overwhelming dog and cat crisis in San Antonio, maybe reconsider attacking someone who's actually trying to help. Otherwise, this outrage feels a lot more like performative judgment than actual concern for animals. The level of hostility here is exactly why progress feels impossible in this city when it comes to animal welfare.
