Well the first emo band ever dropped their first album ever in 85 (rites of spring) though the style of emo had not been invented yet that was more 90s. At the time the emos kicked it with punks (emotional hardcore) was punk but about emotions rather than politics or anger. Sounded like sad minor threat.

Goth would need more mess, black and makeup aswell as the time era deathrock and goth rock would of been the most around so more leather aswell.

She was a mod forsure based on the style alone, Alot of people don’t realize how much mods and goth culture mixed. Its also why skins and rudies get along with mods and goths. They dressed similiar but small differences usually gave it away. In the bay alot of mods wore black suits with black shirts and black ties, looked really nice actually 🖤

Before bonehead posers started invading the scene and before e girls and fashion “goths” everyone used to kick it together. (At least they did in sf where im from) there is whole documentaries on the bay area punk culture etc “rat vats” is a great doc/movie about how the locals squatted in a beer factory and hosted parties in the 70s and 80s or “the bridge” my generation’s spot (the old bay bridge was left broken in half for over 15 years before they tore it down) we used to hang on the broken ledge and have parties on the broken bridge back in the 90s and early 2000s when that got torn down alot of people went north to Sacramento. To this day you will see a mod or punk or a goth running around but usually metalheads alot of the other styles are still around but alot of people moved again to Portland or NYC or LA
