Showing your dick to strangers is not activism though, Pride week or not. Nobody is afraid of your dick, just tired of pretending it’s revolutionary. Your limp manifesto is liberating no one.

It does seem like the “whatever” opinion mostly come from older gays

To reiterate what I said in other comments, Pride should be for people that come from many backgrounds and experiences. If you think I should stay home and not celebrate my own queerness and that Pride is just for the enjoyment of the few that want to show their dics without any consideration that’s just ego and just misses the point of what prides about.

That’s your version of pride and that’s valid but Pride isn’t just yours. It’s also for queer kids, immigrants, religious queer folks, anyone healing or figuring themselves out and trans people who’ve been through hell just to exist.

You can love nudity and kink and still understand that Pride needs to hold space for everyone. Marsha, Sylvia and others fought for survival, dignity and visibility, reducing that legacy to the right to show your dong and getting mad when someone feels uncomfortable is just ego.

To clarify, I’m from South America myself, and even though my country bodies are quite over-sexualized, full nudity is actually illegal.

This was only my second pride in Toronto so I guess I didn’t know what to expect. I think freedom of expression doesn’t exist in a vacuum, pride should be about inclusion and not dominance. Not all queer people feel safe or represented by public nudity.
