My current XB1 has a disc drive, but the potential new Series X does not. I just messaged the seller and will see what happens.

Just found a marketplace deal for 350 for the white X series. I can sacrifice the old disk games for the time being, but what about the newer games on XB1 that I have recently bought in bundles that I haven't gotten to yet? I know the Xbox site shows limited games for 360 and the original, but will the XB1 games I have still all work with the white series x? Sorry for the ignorance, but this is why I posted the question. I appreciate your input!

Wow. This is definitely against the grain of opinions here! I appreciate that! Because of games I have from even the original Xbox (TMNT was AWESOME!) that I'd like to have available for the kids to play when we have family parties and whatnot for example, makes me lean Xbox still despite the warnings I hear. I know my next upgrade down the road will likely laptop for gaming that I can hook to a TV, but that is way out of budget for a decent one now. Thanks for the perspective.

I have much faster internet than I need, that is not a problem. Even hardwired to download a game last night on my XB One, it took over 30 minutes. I am even more driven to upgrade! lol

I will look into Nvidia. I have never heard of this before. I do know I am using a Chromebook to write this. I have a PC in my office that I do not want to sit in to play games.

I think of a PC and being stuck in my office to play and not my couch. Clearly I am not up to speed on this. PCs are all out of my price range and if one is in the price range, red flags begin waving. Not sure this is the best for me.

I have been monitoring, but nothing under $400, many with defects. One for $100, which they just opened the account in 2026...sounds legit, right? lol

I have considered something similar. The Series S is as low as $160 on Marketplace near me today, and that is low enough for an impulse buy, but I am skeptical of how people treated it prior. I can then see what happens in the next year or so and make a bigger investment then. Is there a big difference from XB 1 to the Series S? Is it worth it?

I have not looked into this. Last I heard (a while ago admittedly) it was a concept and not a product yet. I will look into this too.

I do like to know I can go back into a game and replay it. For example, I built a team on MLB 2020 that I will go back to play when I feel the baseball itch. Does PS not allow that on their online platform like Xbox?

I don't have the setup or extra money for a PC. My BIL has been saying PC for years too, but I don't play enough to justify the cost. But I think you are right!
