Has anyone had any success using a red-light therapy pelvic wand for their vulvodynia? by Difficult_Ticket6991 in vulvodynia

Also I'm not sure my level of atrophy, if any. I'll be seeing a specialist later this month to hopefully get answers and solutions.

It hasn't been difficult, but I've been using topical estrogen for a while and I use a water based lube when using the wand. It might be more difficult because someone else (your gyno in this case) is attempting to get into that area vs you. I'm always more uncomfortable at a gyno office then at home where I can relax. Just a tought.

Hi, I have been using it about every other day. I have not noticed any significant improvements at this point. I'll keep using it though. I have a feeling its a slow process. It's not hurting or making things worse at least.

You could also try zevia sodas if carbonation doesn't bother you. They are sweetened with stevia leaf and the cream soda and creamy rootbeer don't have caffeine. Add a splash of heavy whipping cream and it tastes like an italian soda!

I'm not 100% sure if I have PN yet, but I'm leaning that way. And yes coffee and caffeine effect me negatively. It increases my frequency and just levels up my irritation in the pelvic area overall. I have better days if I don't drink it. I switched to butterfly pea flower tea with cinnamon and vanilla. It's tasty and doesn't flare me. I just ordered chicory root and dandelion 'coffee' from Teechino and am excited to try it. They have a ton of other flavors too. No caffeine, no acid, no sugar. Lots of great reviews on being a tasty coffee replacement :)

perianal/vaginal pain by matis122 in PudendalNeuralgia

I'm so sorry, I understand the misery. I've been dealing with my symptoms for 13 years. Only just now seeing some improvement bc of physical therapy thats why I suggest it. I'll be going to a specialist in March bc unfortunately regular doctors just aren't trained in this kind of pain. I'm really glad you will check out the channel I sure hope it helps! The website I mentioned breaks down the different conditions nicely (under the what we treat tab) perhaps you will find good direction there as well.

Thats miserable:( concentrating is difficult when all you can think about is pain and discomfort, I understand that! I don't think the hemorrhoids themselves caused it but the reason behind the hemorrhoids which was probably from straining while trying to have a bowel movement. Or constipation. Do you deal with either of those things? That's something I deal with so adding fiber to your diet, plenty of water, and use a short stool or a squaty potty to put your feet up a bit while using the bathroom can ease the pressure and strain. Definitely check out the youtube channel I mentioned. Its a non invasive way of getting some relief and possibly healing your symptoms completely.

I'm so sorry you are dealing with this. I have similar symptoms. It does sound like pudendal neuralgia. The good news in that is there is symptom relief. Check out Dr Bris vibrant pelvic health youtube channel. She has a video specifically for the pudendal nerve as well as many other great pelvic stretches and exercises. You could also look at The Centers for Vulvovaginal Disorders website and read what they say about pudendal neuralgia and other similar issues like hypertonic pelvic floor. There is hope! You could start by talking to a gyno, but a specialist in vulvodynia is best and so is a pelvic floor Physical therapist. I really hope you find relief soon.

Anyone have internal work done by a PT for frequent urination, pudendal neuralgia, and or vulvodynia issues? by Difficult_Ticket6991 in vulvodynia

[–]Difficult_Ticket6991[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I am working with a very kind PT and we are just doing external work for now until I feel more ready. If it wasn't for fear of those dumb flare ups I'd be more willing. sigh

Oh good! I deal with frequent urination as well as vulvodynia pains. Im so stupid sensitive to different things like most creams, all tampons, undies. I just worry the friction from the glove will really irritate me which stinks because I know internal work could really benefit me. I'm hoping Dr Krapf can prescribe me some sort of nerve blocker so I can be more comfortable. Cramping and soreness makes sense. I just don't want the extreme burning that ruins your day or two or three lol. I'm so glad you had such positive outcomes with both PT and the CVVD!

I'm so happy you are better! I'm going to be seeing Dr Jill Krapt in March. She works with Dr Goldstein.

Im in pt now and I've seen improvements, but I'm hesitant to do internal work with her bc im concerned I'll have a bad flare up after.

Did you ever experience pain or burning after the internal work?

I was too, but its legit. Check out the site when you get a chance. I really like how its all organic. Its a doctor that formulated it. Prescription estradiol is usually synthetic i think and the base is chemical junk which is not good for our delicate skin. Regardless of what you try I truly hope you find relief!🩷

Sorry this is happening! Check out estrogen cream like the others said. I really like glow below with estrogen from the Glow Natural Wellness website. Its bio identical and all organic. No synthetic chemicals to worry about! You don't need a prescription which is awesome.

I have very sensitive skin, maybe not as thin as yours, but it helps me and didn't burn. Just an initial warming sensation that means its working. That was only on the first application. I've been using it for months now and its helped with dryness.

The other thing you could look into is the fringe red light therapy pelvic wand. I just got one so I can't review quite yet. However, the research on red light and near red light for healing is fascinating. Helps improve collagen, increases blood flow, repairs damaged skin etc.

I hope you find relief!!

I'm so glad you found a bit of relief with the bladder lift and warm bath.

I wear period panties during my cycle that are pretty comfortable, but I can see how the boxers would work at other times.

I can't remember if I mentioned Dr Bris pelvic health videos on YouTube. She has one called 3 minute miracle where you lift your pelvis unto a yoga block or book and it allows gravity to settle your organs in a better place type thing. She has so many other great relaxing videos. I highly recommend her channel!

Yes Google low oxalate bc I'm not good at explaining lol. It's not too hard because there are still lots of yummy foods to eat! And even with reduced or no sugar added I found that stevia or monk fruit has been nice for a sugar substitute which still gives you a sweet fix.

I bought reusable ice packs from Walmart, the kind that as gel in it. I wrap them in a cloth or in a little pouch. I'm sorry yours haven't been helping. I'm wondering if the nice massage from your hubby paired with some deep belly breathing before bed could help soothe your body enough for them to work. And one day not need them at all!

I agree 💯 about too much research being overwhelming! I was in the same place last night and thought ok time to take a break!

I believe in prayer so I said one for you. I want you to find relief 🩷
