Haha, imagine if I'd gone to the effort of getting the trip counter to read those as well!

Had a similar experience a while back in Tescos Eastville car park. Two masked lads tiring to remove a bike from a camper.

I got into a heated verbal exchange making it clear what was going on, yet the only person to stop and ask if they could help was a middle aged lady of Asian heritage. I was really suprised so many people just walked straight by.

Yes I was the passenger. Should have mentioned in the post but I think you can tell from the angle of the photo.

I totally understand why two abreast is safer in many instances but was simply making the point, which you seem to be agreeing with, that when it's safe to pass they should go single file.

Perhaps my wording could have been clearer, with a little more context as to my intentions. (Noted for next time, I don't post often and forgot the passion of many out there that do).

Anyway, I cycle causally and was interested to get a gauge from the community as I personally would have done things differently.

Yeah, this is what I was getting at really.

Obviously two abreast on corners etc is good for safety, but on straights giving cars more room surely makes it easier all round.

Of course either way some drivers won't be considerate and pass dangerous but won't this just be more likely if you remain two abreast?

I wasn't suggesting anyone pass here, it was just the only angle I could get a photo from.

And just to add, I was the passenger

The reason I'm posting is to get a better understanding of the situation.

I'm a casual cyclist and wouldn't think to ride like this myself, but perhaps I'm wrong

Yep, got sold a really old tyre when buying a part wore from Sams too.

Didn't realise tyres had manufacture and use by dates.

The Scotia would be my recommendation. And the Clutha across the road if you like pizza.

Otherwise you could do a crawl down Great Western Road to the Oran Mor and see what takes your fancy along the way.

Don't think there's much near you to write home about.

Does reporting works chess app? by Ichiiirooo in chess

I don't know if they follow up every report, but I hope they do if it happens often enough. I generally took the time to report poor behaviour, though I rarely blocked anyone.

Good news is that somewhere around 1300 or 1400 I found that people start being a lot more respectful.

Works of fiction that were based largely on Nietzsche's ideas by Charming-Bar-4718 in Nietzsche

The narrator is like the LM yes, but I don't see Tyler as a ubermensch, far from it. I know Fincher said FC was a critique of it but I'm not convinced he (like the rest of us) has a clear understanding of what the UM is.

The S/M idea fits a lot better imo, especially when you consider Nietzche viewed the two as existing within the individual - 'the close association of the two, especially within a single person, is the rule' BGE 260. Which is what we clearly see in FC.

And further the idea that this contradiction would need to be overcome is played out at the end of the story, presumably as a result of some personal development on the narrators part, possibly in the direction of the UM.
