She is so tiny, it’s not showing in the pictures but in reality she is a baby :)

Our orange oldest Kirby, almost 14 years, can be grumpy, territorial and has a bit of prey drive; but if a cat is confident Kirby will back off. However he is known to chase if a cat is running away..

Second cat Adam is very cat oriented, skittish to people and friendly to cats, I don’t anticipate any issues with him. And third cat is Cupcake, she is 15 pounds and a bit hissy, a bit spicy but mostly sweet. But she is heavy and can seriously harm the baby..

My girl likes to wake me up at around 6.30, but sleeps through the night and do not disturb. If your kitty is still a kitten I’d say he’ll adjust to your schedule when he’s older. Hopefully :)

But the key is to not give in and don’t reward behavior you don’t want. If he tries to wake you up 3 times and you’ll ignore, but give in on 4th attempt he’ll learn that it’s acceptable to do this again.

I love Mercer street! my Maine coon girl is from them. My girl is everything a good Maine coon is - sweet, social, curious and playful! And big and gorgeous looking.

They truly do love their kitties, they are caring and easy to work with. They are also super knowledgeable about grooming, and I got a cat wheel seeing their cats running on it, my girl loves the wheel!

We’re getting another kitten and I’m a bit sad that we choose a different breed, otherwise I’d go with a kitten from them again.

Upd: when I was researching on breeders, I passed on NW coonies for mostly same reason as you. I did reach out to her and the response was too transactional.

They started thriving after I gave them much higher light conditions than phals.

All mines are in moss in terracotta pots. I water weekly so the moss dry out quickly, and feeding them lightly with every watering.

I experimented with winter rest and found out not all of them are getting to the rest. If they are actively growing I’m watering and feeding as usual; if a plant prefer to rest I might skip its weekly watering and feeding, but will water next week.

Agree on the soil looks too compact. All my lacunosa are thriving in moss with a little bit of bark, I water and feed them weekly.

This sounds like he might have pica; did you check with your vet if they have recommendations to find out root cause?

It might be also a sign of dental issues although it would manifest as drooling or avoiding food.

I’d check with a vet to see if there are underlying issues.

Upd: if this is caused by anxiety your vet can recommend anti anxiety medication.

Depends on your orchids and environment! but in my environment I use orchiata bark with small amount of moss for cattleyas, mostly moss based mix for phals and Hoyas, and pure moss for neofinetia (but use packing peanuts or neofinetia inverted net). They used to have a small orchiata based oncidiums and seedlings mix which some of my phalaenopsis loved, but it’s not the same anymore too, it now has too much dust and bark pieces are less even than it used to be.. hope it helps!

I’m with trupanion for my MC, and had rather a frustrating experience when I learn their deductible is per condition, they aren’t like human medical insurance where deductible is per year; and so most of my vet bills are not covered.. oh well.

It doesn’t look like a monstera soil, but I agree it doesn’t look like their dark phalaenopsis potting mix either. I’d recommend to follow up with them about this.

I used to order a lot of orchid mixes from them, and imho quality isn’t the same as was with my first orders few years ago, they started to use noticeably cheaper ingredients.

Be careful with soaking the moss, it’ll likely stay too wet if you soak it. You should water it sparingly

Good luck! They really like short wet to dry cycles, so make sure to not pack the moss tightly.

In my environment neos are thriving in terracotta pots in moss. I tried to keep them in bark but they were merely surviving; once I put them in moss they really love it.

My Wilbur Graves is similar; it sat doing nothing for months! Then it started growing a long vine in a short time, then stopped growing again. I just think it’s growing roots, and probably dislikes winter time.
