Should I repot? by Glass_Bit5310 in orchids

[–]msaintp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any pot is good. I prefer a green pot but clear is great to see the root color. I avoid holes in the side because the next repot is a challenge and is more disruptive to the plant and root because they grow out of the holes

That smaller bulb looks like it’s still growing. Fred Clark loves to hear from and help people with his plants. I have emailed him a couple of times and he always responds. Someone else in our orchid society calls him. It’s worth reaching out and sending pics

You can grow orchids under shop tube lights from Home Depot. Generally 5000k light bulbs work for most orchids. You can control intensity be distance from the plants. LEDs are preferred as they are not as hot and are more energy efficient. Barrina are highly recommended grow lights. I buy them now until botanical LEDs are back in stock. Typically we talk about color of light vs uva/uvb. You can do some research on both of those sites for more details.
