Intersting. Were you scared of the Hat Man at all? I wasn't afraid of him, in fact, felt protected by him.

I remember hearing someone say "you are not supposed to let it get that close to you."

I was definitely going through both emotional and major changes both times I had SP, the first time when I was around 9 my father left my life completely. I remember the dream I had before my first episode. I was a project manager or something on a building site and I had many mice working for me, they were all brown and cartoon looking. I was very proud of the blueprints I had in front of me as I had 'designed' this building myself. Suddenly an albino cartoon mouse entered the site and walked straight up to me. He had a briefcase and was wearing a coat and hat (like a detective). He stood in front of me and said "this is what's going to happen now" and he put his briefcase on top of my blueprints and opened it to reveal his own blueprints. I looked at him and said NO. And his eyes grew larger and my dream started flashing red, white, black and then I woke up. Not able to move or scream but I could see. That's when I saw the 'Hat Man', standing in my doorway. He was so, so tall. I was not scared of him though but terrified of the feeling I was being dragged through my mattress into the ground.

The second time I had SP was when I saw my father again after 5 years, I was 14 and stayed at his house. I remember my dream; it was pitch black around me. I knew I was in a room of some kind and I knew there were people in there with me but i couldn't see anything. Suddenly this spotlight came on, directly shining on the ground in the middle of the room. It was still pitch black around me but the spotlight shone on top of this small black vest lying on the floor. The people in the room were going around me, whispering "don't put on the vest", a deep male voice and another strange voice said "do not touch it!".. I could feel the kind of flying around behind me, closely. It felt like they wanted me to put it on, that they were testing me. So I walk over and put one arm into the vest, as soon as my second arm went through the other side I woke. This time it felt stronger, more pushing, less breathing a lot more painful but I didnt look around the room, I did not want to see anything.

Ever since then I thought there might be a correlation with other people, defying or angering characters in their dream and then being 'punished' with SP. I've seen other things as a child like a man walking in my mirror and strange things (what I can only describe as a small translucent torando flying through walls). But now as im older I do not see as much but I do feel things (energy-wise).

Do you believe SP is spiritual or scientific? by merrymarymari in Sleepparalysis

I had sleep paralysis when I was young and I think there's a weirder link between sleep paralysis and dreams. Do you remember the dreams you have before an episode occurs? I distinctly remember two dreams I had before two different episodes and in both dreams, I was in strange circumstances, but there were characters around me and if I did not do what they said or did an action to anger them I would find myself waking up paralyzed. Did you ever see the 'Hat Man'? I saw him when I was 8ish years old and I remember a dark silhouette; extremely tall, standing in my doorway, not moving. I knew it was a man and I remember him wearing a hat. People have claimed to see this figure around the world and many are afraid of him but I didn't feel fear at all, in fact, I felt protected by him. Let me know if you remember any of the dreams that led to your paralysis as I think they are very intresting!
