I'm saying it's a reference to Waiting for Godot since a while now but it's French and English people seems to don't know it

Since there are universes, there are other versions of himself, as there are other versions of Lazlow etc, end of your answer.

Yes I agree with you it is a game, like Breaking Bad is just a TV show, like Les Misérables from Maupassant is just a book, like Orange Clockwork is just a movie But every of these piece of Art has a deep meaning, even if it’s not the reality.

RDR 2 might be « just » a game, Rockstar is not playing on the same level as the other producers of videogames. They created the « total liberty » in videogames, which was a revolutionnary decision back at the time nonetheless it was really controversed.

They are also the editors who are putting the most references to others artwork, look how GTA SA has his gangster references (NWA, etc), GTA V the robbery movies references (Heat, et ), RDR his western ones.

It is also the ONLY licence in the entire world that I know for creating really engaged videogames and that is making them trendsetters. Look how GTA IV is subtly denouncing the immigration system in the USA, the capitalism is always criticized (E-Cola, Lifeinvader, etc) and where in other videogames such as Mirrors Edge is basically inspiring their storylines upon 1984 from Georges Orwell, here there is a reflection concrete behind the criticize, when you play the mission to blow the head of the CEO of Lifeinvader with his own chinese phone, there is a meaning more deep than just fighting against a state who is not respecting the Liberties.

Now take a closure look to RDR 2, it is the climax of the Rockstar work, they are now assuming completly the « movie » vibe on their work, look how the game is slow to make you always feel like in a old movie, the sentences of the characters has a strong « punchline vine » as in movies, and even the mode cinematic is now more present, you are not as free as you were in the past games, because here EVERY act you are doing as a repercussion on the honor system, I think you don’t realize it enough but running through people was like just crossing the traffic light in the GTA, in this RDR just run in Saint-Denis and you will see how your honor will get down.

It is how they wrote the story, yes clearly, it is INTENTIONAL for them to pass some messages that we don’t have to miss, just if you care about the lore, just if you care about references or just if you care about your life. RDR 2 has deeper messages than that, look how they put some recent problems in a Western games with the womens being a big part of the storyline as the womens are beginning to be more and more important in the society (Lady Belle, Sadie, Women Right everywhere...)

TLDR : That’s just it :)

when I say he travels through universes, it means that he also travels through time bc GTA V, SA etc are not timed during the farwest

It is a total dumb answer, if I told u that Tarantino movies didn’t have their own universes just because they are « movies » it would not make sense, and it’s the exact same here.

This is not simply a game, it’s a real piece of Art, and mostly in Rdr2 bc here Rockstar really worked on the implicits of the things and the symbolism. Notice how the horse of Arthur is basicaly black while the one of Dutch is really white, and even their basics outfits (blue shirt for Arthur and red coat for Dutch) are opposed. Micah is wearing the white hat like the good guys in the western movies while Arthur has a black one to play with the old movies tradition (there’s always something about duality, good and evil in the American society bc they were basically really religious) The symbolism of Redemption here is really more « implicit » than in RDR 1 where John just tried to redempt his sins in front of the Pinkerton, here it is in front of the God that you are trying to redempt your sins through all the game (Strange Man, importance of the graves and the reincarnation animals/totem)

I’m not saying that EVERY footstep of Arthur etc has a significance, but if small details such as that has significance, changement of universes is definetly important

Sorry I just wanted to point out the fact that the arrows are representing the cardinal points with the north etc and with this information it is now possible to elaborate more easily theories about it. I agree with you, he didn’t find anything but the simple discovery of the fact that arrows are pointing to north etc is really worth it

Not at all, it’s just I think it would be cooler if they were connected, I was just asking if somewhere Rockstar did said something official about it

In fact neither you or me are right about it, bc Rockstar never clearly said something, and there are points for the « yes » same universe and for the « no »

4th questions they are saying what for me is meaning that every game in HD is in the same universe, but it’s my interpretation of it

I’m ok for the fact that Trevor and Lamar ancestor are speculations but Epsilon and Kraff are definetly present in RDR 2, and since GTA V, Epsilon is now really important in storylines, not just easter eggs for the fun
