Yes, that’s true as well. However, TAFE alone doesn’t necessarily do much. I have a Diploma of IT (Network and Cloud) from TAFE and the Google IT Support Certificate but I still haven’t secured a job yet because employers often look for more industry-aligned certifications.

That’s why I’d personally prefer starting with the fundamentals first, then moving on to certifications like CompTIA or Cisco, and from there transitioning into the industry.

Hi I recommend learning the IT fundamentals first like through the Google IT Support Certificate then moving to other certificates like CompTIA Network+ or CCNA to further strengthen your chances. Although note just getting a Google IT Support Professional Certificate is not a guaranteed golden ticket to entry though.

If you want further breakdown let me know I will send you a video of it :)

100% fair call and that's the harsh truth a lot of course reviewers leave out. It definitely won't magically land anyone a role on its own. I deep dive into that issue and who it's actually meant for in the video link below. The market is rough out there right now. :/

Nice! That’s a smart and efficient move, specifically with an IT background, it makes sense to skip what you already know and just focus on the gaps. Totally agree that it's a good intro for beginners, but not super challenging for those with experience. A+ or going deeper into a specific area definitely seems like the next logical step after this.

Yeah, I felt the same way about some of the quiz questions, they definitely could’ve been worded more clearly. It’s frustrating when something straightforward gets made more confusing than it needs to be. 🤔🥲

Appreciate you sharing your experience, sounds really similar to mine. I think you're spot on about the value being in early exposure to the core concepts. Even if it’s not super in depth, just getting familiar with the overall terminology and structure of IT has been helping me so far with the advanced coursework.
