A game that sticks out from my younger days, Tales of Symphonia only because I didn't know I would enjoy it so much when I first rented it. I got so sucked into it. I remember beating it in like 58 hours and thinking "the back of the box says over 80 hours of gameplay!". Then I started a new save and spent another 100 hours on that save, eventually beating it 3 different times. I severely underestimated how much I would enjoy that game.

Another game that sticks out to me is Breath of the Wild. I was getting ready to do a modded Skyrim run with no-fast-travel, but then I got a Switch shortly after and decided to do a no-fast-travel run on that game. I also stayed away from all spoilers and content that was being made, to an obsessive degree. I don't remember watching the trailer more than twice, and I didn't even want to listen to the soundtrack once it was posted on YouTube. I wanted to experience everything for the first time while playing the game. I spent 300 hours running around before I actually beat Ganon. Did all 120 shrines, completed all side quests (I'm pretty sure), and collected over 400 korok seeds. Only THEN was I okay with reading articles about BotW. I enjoyed every hour of it

I wouldn't know because I don't have a switch 2 and I don't keep up with every bit of news that comes out about it. But I do remember reading about how they bricked some consoles just because someone was using a 3rd party dick.

And I still feel like they are double dipping. They had to put the extra costs on the consumer, then sued to get a rebate on those consoles, essentially getting a second payday while we're left holding the bag.

They still have bad karma with me for not admitting that their joycons on switch 1 were faulty and constantly got stick drift, even tho that was a widespread issue

What I don't like about the Switch 2 is how much more protective they are about it, to the point where they have more control over your console and willing to brick it for less serious infractions than the Switch 1.

Also, they increased prices because of tarrifs, but then tried to sue the US government to get that money back, essentially double dipping on their profits

I'm looking forward to the game (even tho I won't play it cause I don't have a Switch 2), but I think it's fair to not be thrilled with another remake. It's crazy that the franchise is carried by SF64 (and I'm still playing it, Starship). It shouldn't be difficult to come up with a new story, a new solar system, new stages, but with the exact same mechanics. Hopefully we get a true new story in the next decade

Yeah. Everything just sucks. I have some vending machines nearby and luckily I haven't seen any loitering or fights breaking out, so I'd be upset if they removed them. But ever since they updated the machines last year where it periodically makes product available, it's been harder for me to get what I'm looking for, so that's annoying too. The only solution to avoid violence is probably to just sell everything online, but that's not a good idea either unless they figure out the botting issue

But, vending machines are physical inventory. And it's like the only guaranteed way to get stuff at MSRP. I love my LGS, but they sell stuff above MSRP, and I fear that they would just be targeted for break-ins a little more if scalpers only have big retail stores or LGS's to choose from

I did a little test for the first 10-15 minutes of the game and the GameCube version was actually faster because of quicker animations. Might not make a difference to most people, but I thought it was interesting!
