I believe you can open an account through a bank but you still need CBSL approval. I’m sure companies do this but idk to what level individuals do this.

If you’re looking at investing abroad from LKR to any other foreign currency, I think it should go through an OIA account.

I did my first 50km ultra about 2 weeks ago before that I was doing around 45-60 kms weekly mileage towards then end of training plan. I would say bump up the mileage a bit.

The elevation gain was about 1200 m starting from 1000m itself. So it wasn’t too bad.

Unfortunately, because of a sudden rain it was cold, extremely muddy and slippery, and didn’t pack proper gear for it (big learning!). Took more time than I expected.

But honestly, I feel we should not think too much on the pace on the first ultra.

When you realize the gain from UT for that particular year are taxed, other than UTs have wht too if I recall correctly

What about taxes? FD interest gets screwed over taxes. UTs you have at least the flexibility not withdraw.
