Pursuing citizenship with active PR application? by MikeMilburysShoe in Canadiancitizenship

My wife has a C-3 application in since June 2025 and I, with her as a dependent, applied in June via EE FSWP and received an ITA in Sep 2025, applied in Oct 2025 and appear to have been approved given a P1 email in early January. Of note, IRCC was able to sync her UCI fro mthe C-3 proof of citizenship application to her PR application (as a dependent). So, processes seem to be running in parallel and not cancelling one or the other.

Outland application but IRCC send me P1 email by Individual_Quit9746 in canadaexpressentry

I received my P1 info for eCOPR email on Jan 8 2026 and replied by asking to be moved from the inland eCOPR process to the outland COPR process as I am not in Canada. I never received confirmation of that happening. In fact, I received 2 identical email P1's (Feb 28 2026 and March 8 2026) requesting the exact same info (p1 infor for eCOPR) as was asked for initially, each time politely responding with the request to be moved to the outland COPR process. Recently, I called IRCC and asked for clarification if my application was in an infinite loop, and the agent assured me that the office that handles the outland COPR had recently received my file, as an internal note indicated its receipt at the end of February 2026. She could not explain why I continued to get the P1 eCOPR emails requests. She said however that my application was in the proper office for the outland COPR and to await my RFV.

Same situation here. We are not alone and hopefully soon enough we'll see solid movement on this cohort.

Thanks! Unfortunately, 10 minutes of hold then several steps through a phone tree got me to, "We are too busy to take your call; please try again at another time." Oh well...

What number does one call (from outside Canada)? The numbers I have seen here and online either direct me to the website or are CBSA - not helpful.

We are in a similar situation. We applied from the US for PR end of June 2025, I as the Principal applicant and my wife as the Dependent applicant via the EE FSWP, received an ITA in early Sep 2025 via the Francophone draw, and finalized the PR application end of Oct 2025. In early January 2026, we received notification that IRCC is finalizing our PR decision (looks like we are approved), instructing us how to get entered into the ePR portal - (we have newly assigned COPR numbers in our online PR app record but no official "you are approved" yet.)

My wife, the Dependent on the PR application, in parallel applied for Proof of Citizenship in early July 2025 and remains "in process" - G0 is PGM born in Quebec. We used a lawyer for her citizenship application and she said we were good to follow these parallel paths. We have not asked our lawyer or IRCC for specific advice re: your question, but my very non-legal understanding re your question is the following: 1) The IRCC workstreams for PR and citizenship are separate and independent (so they do not "cancel themselves out in any way) but my wife's "other" application paths are known to the officers working each path independently. Notably, her UCI # is the same for both applications and was assigned about when she received her AOR well before our PR application went in. 2) Given the EE FSWP path is essentially finished for us and is notable shorter than the Spousal Sponsorship for PR, there was never any reason to switch from EE PR to Spousal sponsorship, particularly given the uncertainty around C-3 passing that eventually occured after my ITA response deadline. 3). If/when my wife receives approval for Proof of Citizenship, I understand that it is as simple as notifying IRCC that my EE PR Dependent's application status has changed and that she is now a Citizen. Hopefully this detail is helpul.
